Cool platformer with nice presentation though has some issues.

This has really nice spritework, i like the werewolf character and the animation for his slash attack, lumberjack guy sprite is nice and detailed as well though he is huge O_o, so i mostly ran away instead of trying to fight him.

The music theme is really nice and catchy as well .

Main issue i'd say is the physics, the character's movement feels quite heavy, i feel if you lighten the acceleration interpolation a bit so that the player could pick up speed a bit faster, and maybe just up the movement speed a tiny bit this would be quite an improvement on how the gameplay feels, cause despite that the jump seems allright, attack is responsive, and it was a real fun detail that in true oldschool video game logic you could use clouds as platforms XD

Overall just needs a few fixes but it has some solid elements otherwise,

Keep up the good work :)

You've got the start of something good here, but like the others have said the controls really need some work, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not but the slow acceleration of the character hinders the gameplay immensely, both with moving and jumping.  Work on that and I think you've got something enjoyable here.  Either way though, you guys made a game in under a month, good job!

It has a nice look and personality to it, could become a nice game about rolo, but in the current state its barely playable, I don't know why, but the input lag and jump mechanic, the movement, everything feels very frustrating to pull off properly.

Funny entry! I have some problems with the jump, but using the giant as platform was funny lol

I don't think I can say anything that hasn't been said already. It looks great, love the aesthetic and the concept, but the controls and input lag were pretty severe. Get those kinks worked out and you've got something really appealing on your hands!

Nice start!  The controls could use a bit of work and the music was a bit loud.  I think after some adjusting of the controls and some good visual feedback on hitting the enemy and it should but a lot more enjoyable.  It's got nice art cohesion and theme.

Hello :)

The aesthetics were really cohesive and the animation were good. I know a lot of people have said it, but the jumping and moving was really difficult - I think the game was made a lot harder by this.

The music was cool, backgrounds were nice with some good parallax.

Overall the game is a great start to something. :)

I love the aesthetic! Some things can be improved, though. The movement is WAY too slow and the attack is really lagged out. It feels like I'm playing with a $2 bluetooth keyboard from AliExpress. I love the concept, though. Great start to a game, good job!

ART

The art in this game was great - especailly the power up to bcome a little doggo! Though unsure if clouds have collision :D Also the redbushes could do with a little more contrast as I struggled to see them.

GAMEPLAY

Obviously as other have said the player controller was rough - felt like I was in mud the whole time, would be nice to see waht it would be like if you increased the speed of all the movement and made the jump fall faster etc. I also got softlocked due to being stuck on two corners in the room after getting the little doggo ability.

UI
Full screen mode the health bar is in the middle of the screen too.

Music

Loop was nice, I enjoyed it!

OVERALL

Has the setting and the art for a decent game, work on the controls a bit to make moving and jumping fun. Great job on submitting!

I hate to repeat what everyone else said but ya the jumping was hard.

Looks great, needs to be a bit more immediate in terms of responsiveness, and it could be really fun, but still lots to like

By the screenshots, I had high hopes for this project, but the gameplay is still quite rough.

The art itself is nicely done, and it shows that you've put effort into this project, but now you also have to focus in the controls of the character.

Just by increasing a bit the speed of the main character, and the acceleration, it would make a huge difference.

Also, there's some 'game juice' lacking. I'm missing sound effects for actions like jumping or getting damaged.

Keep working and fixing these thinks, because the result could be quite good if you manage to polish this game!

I was really excited to give this game a try because the screenshots reminded me of Castlevania 2.  I know this is an unfinished product, but I think player movement should have been given a little more focus. Jumping across platforms was tough because it felt like you needed plenty of momentum to make even the shorter jumps. Also, when you get to the second screen with the platforms, there are obstacles that made jumping even harder because they had collisions. Visually, I assumed they were clouds, but the collisions made that unclear. I also couldn't tell if I was able to do any damage to the woodsmen. I definitely would be interested in playing a more developed version, if you intend to continue development.

Good Luck!

Developer

the idea was you can jump on the clouds and go back to get a crossbow but it made the game too easy

Gotcha. I did notice that you had the item there and there was part of the ceiling that I could pass through, but I assumed there was a double jump that I would require to get in there later.
