I've never used Blender Player before so I'm probably missing something, but I click the green icon "The Apprentice.exe" and nothing runs. I see a black cmd window pop up for a second but then nothing. My artist can't run it either, but neither of us have used Blender Player before. We're both using Windows 10.

The game looks really neat, and it's really cool seeing games made with Blender. I love the idea of mixing together concoctions to unlock portals. I also am a sucker for wizard type characters, and the UI looks really polished, I really love the look of this game. Looks like a great submission!

I hate to repeat others because i want to give personal feedback, but I agree with diguifi. It ran about the same FPS on my machine. I haven't seen a game in blender so I think that's pretty cool. I would love to see a gameplay video of it working on your machine, just to see how its supposed to play.

It looks fun but unplayable on my potato machine... ran at about 8 FPS, which I think means it needs some optimizations, because looking at the screenshots, the graphics are pretty simple for such hard processing requirements. Plus, 716MB unziped seems a lot for a game like this. Maybe you missed something on blender's exports configs, idk.

Really cool to see something made with the Blender Game Engine!  I think the movement could definitely use some work.  It might play a bit better to avoid the death platforming at least in the beginning. Cool lighting on the wand!

Developer

Thanks a lot! The dead platforming lol,  yes, I know, he needs more work but i think has potential, I made 4 levels but have some problems and can't put the other 2 levels because it was supposed to be 4 elements and a big boss (your ego) as a final level. The logic bricks and phisycs are a challenge, sorry my english and thanks for play ;)

Developer

You need to collect some items to mix and open the portals, you are an alchemist apprentice, for the first portal you need to drop two rocks and one nest in the vessel, in the second 2 rocks +2 ice +1 nest, and in the puzzle you must put the boxes in the fire sýmbol. You can shoot ice to the fireballs with keyboard E, I forgot to put instructions, little  detail lol

Real cool! I wasn't a huge fan of the movement, they felt too slow and the jump too high, but overall, good game, good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot! Im glad you liked, i know he needs a lot of tunning but im happy and i am making an update, i wish u can try later

ART

Like the emission etc, overall looked okay. The spells didn't have any effects when i used them - little disappointing as it could have been cool.

Sounds

Liked the spell sounds and the BG loop

GAMEPLAY

The jump felt really off, you need more movement and impact on it, also when using moving platforms your character needs to stick to them or it will feel frustrating, the fire balls were also a little unfair as they are hard to jump over.

OVERALL

The game looks consistent, but the gameplay was really rough. well done on submitting!

Developer

Awesome feedback! Thanks a lot, u are right, I can't make that adjustments but the spells are working, you need  2 rocks and 1 nest, i hope u play my update later and thank you for taking that time to give me feedback
