The overall presentation of this game is excellent, you nailed the PS1 aesthetic through the models and low-resolution, the combination of 3d low-poly models and 2d sprites really help with that. The music and sound are also really great, and make for quite an authentic feel. Also very cool to see a bit of playing around with height, as I did notice the mech flying higher above the water after a certain point. I wasn't able to get past the portion with a bunch of small objects which chased me (not sure what they are) as the game usually crashed not long after, or gave me a game over screen, I presume from running out of of health, though it's hard to tell since there's no feedback on that. Anyways great presentation, it's really fun and feels good. I wish I could see the whole thing!

Developer

thanks a lot! :D

The aesthetic and look of this game are top notch: the art direction really does cover that whole PS1 aesthetic well, and that nice pre-rendered animation of the mech at the beginning, oh my god, so perfect... And the music is wonderful as well, honestly!

But... the game definitely has issues as far as bugs goes. The most prominant of which probably has to be some crashes when enemies spawn in while you're locking on; it seems to consistently crash the game, which is a bummer...

Mechanically I have some complaints; the health system, as mentioned in other comments, isn't very clear, and the fade-to-black with no animation gives you very little feed back to when you're dead. I can't even tell when I'm grazing against shots or getting hurt by them, honestly.

The element of bullet-spam is nice as a "final upgrade" sort of thing (think how like, CAVE shooters handle upgrades and the like), but from the start it does feel a little... I dunno, spammy. Still, it *feels* good, and that matters more imo.

Only other issue I have is the explosion sound issue, as mentioned by Studio Lemi. Really had to turn the game down cause of it... which is unfortunate, cause the music is really nice ;;

I'm being a little harsh, but only cause shmups are important to me and I know you're doing something really cool here, just something that needs more time with. I would be beyond happy to see you work on this more, honestly. And of course, good job for making this in the first place!

Thanks a lot, really appreciate your feedback :D

I would like to say or comment more, but you have said all lol

Thank you for the kind words about the music :) glad you liked it

Great aesthetics and music. I kept dying in game unfortunately and I feel like I don't know what I'm doing wrong? The intro won't load in full screen unfortunately for me.

Developer

Thanks for all!

Yeah, the hurt-life system in the game lacks a lot of visual feedback for the player, sorry for that :L

Also, I didn't knew the intro doesn't load in full screen lol, in fact the game crashed the first time I hit play on the export xd

Another game with no escape from credits screen.. I launched the game, it started once and crashed 1-2 minutes after that. So I just could kill a couple of enemies. Now it does not work. All I can is change settings and see credits screen. That's it. In what folder can I find game dynamic data to remove it and try again (Windows)?

Developer

There's no game dynamic data, we don't save any kind of file on the game due to it's a jam game lol

Yeah, I know, I forget to add the back button on the Credits Menu, sorry for that xd

If the game crashes... I can't do nothing, it even crashed to me many times after make the export, but before the export it never crashed :l

It is very sad :'(

Just as PixelRunner mentioned, the ps1 aesthetic is fire, you guys did a really good job portraying that feeling, right of the start I felt the vibes, the music, the art, the title screen, it was beautiful to behold, then the intro into the game was fantastic!

The only things holding it back are the mechanical side, I imagine due to time constraints u guys had to cut short a lot of things, but I feel like the shooting mechanic was just too spammy, I was cheesing my way through.

Also the sound for the explosions was becoming annoying because it crashed against the walls in the level an i could hear it constantly going off and it took away from the music.

Overall the game aesthetically is amazing, with just a bit more refinement it could climb up to be one of the top games easy!

Developer

Thanks for all!

There's a lot to update, but I think this will keep like this currently :s

This game is a lot of fun and I absolutely love the visuals. You nailed the ps1 look even down to the art direction. I also loved the little prerendered cutscene with the text at the beginning. I wasn't able to find any indicator of how much hp I had left though, so I didn't know when I was going to die. Other than that great job!

Developer

Yeah, the health system was done almost at the end before submit and I didn't had the energy and the time to add more feedback like some screen effect or a SFX.

Thanks for all!

I think you forgot to make it public

Developer(+1)

Was private because we requested one more day to finish it.

Sorry for that
