I'm not sure if I did something wrong, I jumped down the bottom and couldn't back up again. Tried to enter the big mech many times but it didn't seem to work. Shame as I was looking forward to taking that thing for a spin!

Developer(+1)

That is really odd. You should be able to press F to enter the mecha. As long as you are close enough. Thanks for trying it out anyways =D

Submitted(+1)

Sure I tried F but I'll give it another go during the day today for you.

Ok I was able to get it working this time! The gun looked almost like it was just a 2D sprite, I would expect some width in it. Initially I was trying to shoot from the start point and having trouble with the projectile hitting the bottom edge of the gap to the target room. Once I realised I could get in there, I took out the targets quickly but nothing else happened,  was it supposed to trigger a game over or round over or something? The jumping was a little off (floaty) for me and I was getting caught on some colliders, like stairs. But the mech looked nice and so did the targets and target room, I also enjoyed the music. Good work on your entry!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for giving it another go!

The mech design was really awesome and I love the idea of the leaderboard. I had a little bit of difficulty with the movement and aim sensitivity.

Developer

Thanks for playing =D

Love the leaderboard! Such a fun addition to the game. The controls felt a little difficult to use as I think aiming was a little sensitive and movement was pretty fast for such cramped corners, but it's not a huge issue. Still had a nice time with it though I'm nowhere near fast enough to get on the leaderboard!

Thanks for playing!

Real cool concept, and i like how the demo aspect of it kinda fits the theme since you’re on a test facility to develop the mech.

I also really enjoyed the concept art and small model of a previous version of the map i assume ? That were in game as bonus insight of behind the scenes stuff ^^

The mech’s design is also very nice and i like the rifle/melee weapon combo.

Last but not least the leaderboards is a fun addition, i don’t think i did anywhere good enough to ever be visible there but it was nice to see fellow jammer’s names and even the jam host’s pop up there :p

Well done :)

That 3d map is what i was trying to finish before the end of the jam but I ran outta time. It would have been much larger with more targets. I got a little too ambitious!

Thanks for playing =D

Haha yeah time’s running so fast in a jam context, and i sure know the feel about overscoping… cause i never learn and do it all the time personally :p

but yeah the level that’s actually there is a pretty good testing grounds still, plus it’s really cool you’ve repurposed your unfinished map as a bonus insight of behind the scenes stuff ^^

Fun game, but i will always be no. 1. you all will know me as... HACVKEWR! (its on the leaderboard)

Developer

Ha! Thanks for playing.

Really love the multiplayer aspect of it with the leaderboard, I really like the aspect of challenge and overcoming things, so I think this is really fun!

Definitly would love to see this expanded or something wich progresses this system you already made! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Host(+1)

Love the mech design and the leaderboard makes it fun and replayable. Nice to see how familiar names have performed too.

There are a lot of neat concepts here but it looks like the scope might have gotten away from you (been there).  It's be neat to see how this turns out with a bit more time.

Developer

You are right bout that 😅 I really wanted more UI, more environmental story telling and more mechas to “test”. You can see a scaled down map if you go to the left. I wanted to ship the game with that map but I ran outta time and decided to go with the prototype level I made instead. But its all good. I learned alot about IK rigs in this jam. So for me, it’s still a win with all of it’s jank.

Thanks for playing! Pizza ex Machina is awesome!

I liked the idea, but was pretty buggy and difficult to aim. Would love to see an updated version that is a bit smoother!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing! I am excited to take it further after the jam and maybe bring back this idea for future jams.

This is a really cool game, and I love the concept. I wish there was more to it, and the controls are a little janky, but other than that it's good.

Developer

I think I need to add some control sensitivity sliders and some control options. It is so crazy how fine tuned everything needs to be in order to feel “good”. I got the controls to the “good enough to beat the game” level and had to move on for time and sanity reasons =D

Thanks for playing!

Good job, this is fun! It's really fun to run around and slash targets! I didn't notice many bugs, but the one thing I did notice is the extremely high mouse sensitivity (maybe it's just something on my end) that made it hard to aim, so for most of the time I just walked up to the targets and did melee attacks. It's still a really fun game though, I like the music and aesthetics you chose!

(Also, thank you for checking out my game as well :D)

Developer

Thanks for playing =D I wanted to add a sensitivity slider but I ran outta time.

I got a bit lost on the game after I shot all the red lights but I liked it overall. Yes, it is a bit buggy as you say, but you made very cool music there! Keep up the good work!
