Looks and plays great! I thought this was gonna play more like Castlevania but a beat 'em up is cool too. Very well put-together game

Wonderful character design and animations, agreed that a bit more work on backgrounds could help. The game is quite fun (I love the sunflower special), and the level of polishment is great with the cutscenes. Audio fits the game quite well and the tune is catchy. Fantastic entry!

I really liked the player animation. Background were ok, but felt a little dead.

Gameplay wise there wasn't a lot going on though. Just walk, attack, repeat, and killing enemies wasn't particularly satisfying.
It could have used some checkpoints - being sent back to the beginning after dying wasn't very fun.

The movement/platforming was ok. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad either - the player wasn't too fast or slow and the jumping was responsive and didn't feel too floaty.

The animation and ilustration are godly but you dont have many tools to fight and the mobs are the same so its kinda repetitive.

Incredibly well made animations for the characters, and lovely environmental details. It would have been nice if enemies had different sprites rather than resizes/recolors, although given the jam constraints that is easily forgivable. Music and sounds are nice too. The lack of checkpoints besides the boss was bothersome, I resorted to running past most enemy encounters (which worked out pretty well actually). I didn't actually use the flower attack outside of certain situations, as using the rake for its quick hitstun seemed to work out just fine.

Loved that starting cutscene, the gameplay is a bit monotonous and as someone else mentioned it's possible to basically skip enemies due to the lack of reward.

I should say that the attacks are cool to watch and look good and the music also fits well.

My only issue with the gameplay was that there's no reward for killing enemies, so simply running by them speedrun-style while constantly jumping seemed to be the easiest strategy. Still a great game tho!

Really good game! I don't have much to say about improvements so I'll suggest having the camera lead into where you're heading. It feels a bit like cutting your sight short. Other than that it was really fun to play, good job!
