Did you work in a team?
I worked alone, the experience was very fun! ^^

Was the resolution a challenge?
It was a challenge for me to adapt a faster pace platformer into the limited resolution. To overcome it I positioned the player far back and made the camera adjust based on what obstacles where ahead. This way the player can have the most time to react to things that come quickly from offscreen.

What did you learn?
I learned a lot. This is only my second completed project so many things are still new to me.

Nice Gfx, good soundtrack. In terms of gameplay a few issues here and there like dead ends or leap of faith spots. The need to wait for timed events goes against the moto of the game itself… rushing out… those timed events are maybe a bit slow vs the general flow and break the beat of the run. In general a nice entry.

Yeah after hearing feedback, it seems that many did not enjoy the leap of faith. It was one of those ideas that sounds cool on paper but didn't turn out to compliment the gameplay. Same with the timed events. They were suppose to be more of a cinematic addition to the game that made it feel like the cave was crumbling down around you, but I ran out of time and had to simplify the ideas I had for them. Anyways thanks for playing and for the helpful criticism!

Great art. Great music and sound effects. The platforming is crisp and clean.

There are some platforms which you cannot see until after you have jumped, and that makes it difficult to plan your jump ahead of time. I would have to imagine it's particularly difficult to get that right when you've only got 64x64 pixels.

The art in this game is pretty and clean!  The idea of running away from the crumbling floors is pretty cool too... only complaint is some blind jumps and fail cases where I ended up between two stalactites for a little bit.  But otherwise a pretty solid entry, good job!

Neat little game however it was impossible until I changed my monitor from 144 to 60hz. At 144hz you couldn't jump high enough to make the second jump.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I looked into the problem and it seems to be with how my game engine processes physics. Ill try to fix it after voting :)

Pretty fun little running game!  I only wished the camera was farther back to give more reaction time.  Great job!

This was a tough one - I couldn't get past the second jump! Still, loved the cave aesthetic and the music.

This is a really fun and challenging game.  Every time I play I figure out how to get farther ahead before I lose.  I like the music and the tempo of the whole game, it really keeps your attention.  Well done!
