This is a pretty fun game to explore and jump around in. Platforming in this game feels pretty good, if a bit slippery.
The fonts are a little tough to read but they are stylized and fit the tone of the game.
This was a really fun game and I enjoyed it. Love the metroidvania style feel of it all. I got of a lot of Environmental Station Alpha vibes from this game and I really enjoyed it. Loved that you put hidden diskettes around. I didn't manage to find them all I don't think but it is really cool that you put that stuff in there. Great job!
Loved the ability progression and exploration. Got quite challenging in the end for me, but it was still fun all the way through. Really well done for a two week jam game.
loved this so much, would love to see this with gamepad support!
Thanks for the kind words!
An xinput pad is (somewhat) supported, just didn't bother to document it: directional pad for arrows, A on pad is Z on keyboard, and X on pad is, well, X on the keyboard.
Some things about the gameplay:
Also, how the heck did you manage to make a font with just 3x3 pixels??? I thought that 4x4 was the absolute minimum.
I loved the mood and metroidvania likeness of this game :) Very good job!
Fun stuff! Bonus points for being a "non-scrolling" game. I can't tell you how much I love "metroidvanias" where you move one screen at a time. It's surprisingly hard game for me. For some reason I was never able to get to the second save point so things got really frustrating as I died over and over again and had to get back to the first save point. Which isn't a negative criticism from me at all since I think games should be hard and only people with enough skill should be able to finish them. So I gladly admit the game beat me instead of me beating the game (until I get back to it at some point and give it another go).
EDIT:
Ok I just realized it's the second save point I was able to go to. I had missed the first one. Maybe I've missed the third one too. Anyway, it's the one right before you get the high jump ability.
Really nice - an old school arcade with a nice soundtrack, good controls a intriguing areas - congratulations
I played 5 games today.... this is my fav so far!
I have spent some time playing, and I will be coming back to this one! It reminds me of a mini metroid! I got the high jump before I got killed. Defiantly will be spending more time with this one! The sound is great!
