Really really great entry with some nice polish. It's fun to play and I love the aspect of choosing your upgrades. The getting bigger thing is a really nice concept too.
I think the meteorites are a little too punishing though. They come out of nowhere and I felt like I didn't have any time to react. It was quite unfair.
Also major bug! When levelling, if you click on the screen with your mouse, it deselects the level up menus and soft locks you. I had to restart as a result.
Thank you for playing!
Other people mentionned these issues. Thanks for confirming that!
Fun game that reminded me a bit of the Katamari games. I felt really bad for the slime thing and so kept playing to just try and get larger and larger!
Thank you for the feedback! Katamari is indeed one of the inspiration for this game :)
This was really fun to play, and I loved the art. Sadly, I also got stuck on the level up screen. But, great job mate!
Thank you for playing! Other people mentionned this issue with the Level up UI. Here was my answer if you still want to try the game till the end of the countdown:
___
It might be because of the mouse. I know options can go out of focus because of that. You can point/click with your mouse to focus again on the power up you want. Then press spacebar to confirm your choice. Normally, you should be able to select the power ups with just arrow keys and space bar. Hope this solves you issue! :)
I like your game it makes fun and the slime is cute, good work.
Thanks!
It's a nice concept, but I got stuck on the level up screen :(

Thank you! I used free assets for the 3D models and copyright free music. I don't deserve credit for that haha
I would prefer if you had thrown some of the UI or leveling up system time to the actual gameplay. Like some general effects, smoother movements and collisions. The UI was and the Leveling system looked nice.
Thank you for the feedback! I used the gamejam as an opportunity to test some features I wanted to try for a while. Specifically the UI and the leveling/power up system actually.
I take note of what you said, I'll be careful of the other aspects you mentionned for the future!
Thank you for playing :)
Really fun game. Well done
Thank you!
Fun game! Good job with the upgrade system and the game feel. I agree with the other comments that there isn't enough time to react to a meteor.
Thanks! And I sure take note for those meteors haha
Nice game it feels like a 3d Agar.io with different upgrades and more action. Its enjoyable I made almost 314 Nice work ^^
Thank you for playing and GG! :D
Found myself playing this game for almost nearly an hour, nice game!
Wow! Glad you enjoyed that much haha
Nice game! Very clever! I passed with 397
GG! Thank you for playing! :D
A very fun game to play. The art and sound design really helped with the overall game feel. Core gameplay loop was very addicting.
Thank you! Glad you had fun!
Cool game. There were some UI bugs that were hard to get around initially, but I liked the animations in the game once I was in :) I like the gunshot sounds for when the meteors hit the ground too ;)
Ah I see what you mean for the UI! It slipped out of my head, I actually know how to fix it haha
Glad you enjoyed my game! :)
Very fun experience, With decent art and music. But the sounds are a bit loud at the end when all the meteors come crashing down. I also didn't realize it was a agar.io type of gameplay till I accidentally ate a crystal. but that could have just me being dumb--.
I also didn't realize that I just stayed in one section of the map until the very end where I tried to run away as far as I can from the meteors and found out that there was much more to the map than I played. The jump is not that useful until you get the speed upgrade as well.
Good job in making the game, Hope you can use these if you ever decide to polish the game.
Completely agree with you with the sound. I just didn't have time to fix it
For the jump, I also lacked time to add the appropriate obstacles.
Thank you for playing!
Pretty fun! The soundtrack was very important for keeping the energy up.
But, every time a meteor hit me outta nowhere I just wanted to cry xD
Thank you! People mentionned that meteors were a bit unfair because of that randomness. I'll think about more visual cues or time to react newt time I implement somethign like that haha
Visually pleasing and the concept itself enjoyable.
Thank you!
Great work, fun game indeed. Gameplay feels natural and fluent, also nice job with lighting, looks neat. Although i find arrow keys to be a bit uncomfortable way to control character - my right hand was hurt just after two minutes as im not used to arrows :D
Thanks! Hope your right hand is all good now :' )
Like someone else mentioned, this game felt a lot like agar.io, but solo and with slime food! I liked being able to upgrade at each level, and I liked the dash mechanic, but just a couple things.
The meteors are a little unfair. I don't even mean the damage, I mean that there's no way to see them coming until they're hitting the ground. If there was some sort of glow or something above where one was appearing, it would feel a lot more fair when I get hit by it, because as it stands, it feels more like luck than anything else.
As someone mentioned, the jumping didn't have a whole lot of use. Totally understand running out of time though, it happens, not really knocking you for that!
I also didn't really understand the connection to the theme, to be honest. I didn't finish the 5 minute timer though, I tried a number of times but it seemed like any time I got below two minutes, meteors would just not stop spawning, and like I mentioned earlier, there wasn't really a way to know when they were coming so I just felt like I got killed for progressing. Either way, maybe there would be a more clear connection to the theme if I made it through the timer, I don't know, but as it stands, I don't really see the connection.
Overall, great job! I really liked the art and the gameplay was simple and fun!
Thank you for the detailed feedback!
You have a great point with the meteors, I take note!
My take on the theme was mostly on the game mechanic with the power ups complementing each others and the slime growth becoming faster and easier as you keep growing, thus the "chain effect" from the title. I should have add some visual hints to the theme, nothing visually underlines that aspect.
Thanks again for the feedback, and glad you enjoyed my game! :)
I don't know why but today I was randomly thinking about agar.io and here I am playing your game which feels kinda like fate. It's pretty fun zooming around collecting the crystals n mushies n getting faster n bigger. It did feel kinda random when I got hit or not though, like I couldn't really react, I just got hit sometimes which felt unfair. Also I wasn't really sure what the point of jumping was? Despite that, pretty cool game, nice work :)
Thanks! The jump would have more use if I had time to implement the corresponding features. I should have completely cut it before submitting haha
