Team or Solo
Yes, this was a solo project.

Credit:
Nothing was taken from elsewhere. Bosco Coeil was used to produce sounds; GIMP for sprites.

Did you follow the theme?
Yes. Hot air balloons work by heating and letting go of heated air. The lower density in the "envelope" (that's what the balloon part's called) produces buoyancy - hot air rises.

Did you (you or your team) do the graphisms yourself?
Yes, I made all graphics. I'm not an artist, unfortunately, so it's Programmer Art (tm)

Did you (you or your team) do the musics and sounds yourself?
Yes, all sounds and music was made by me. I will note that it was a rather late addition to the project - but an entirely silent game is lame, right?

I loved the idea of using your way to maneuver as also a means of defense. I think this idea could be explored even more. Maybe have buttons or switches connected to moving platforms or doors that can be activated with the laser?

Really nice game! Loved the mechanics! I think it would benefit from some art though.

neat little game the last area was pretty hard the first time trying to go through with rockets flying everywhere.

Very simple but brilliant game! Well done, I really enjoyed this (once I understood how to get the balloon off the ground) :) Love the simplistic art style too.

It's fun buy has a bit of a rage game aspect to it ^^'

Maybe my favorite movement system of all the games I've played in the jam. Really inventive and it totally paid off! Music at the end was excellent, I think it'd be cool if you could have it be individual parts of the song that add each time you get a balloon instead of the tone (i think Outer Wilds did something sort of similar). Great work!

Realy fun and interesting concept! Wow!

Mannnn I'm really impressed with just how much gameplay you got out of *just* the mouse.  This is really impressive.  The multi-purposing of the laser to fill the balloon, propel you left / right / up, and to attack enemies (that aren't *above* you) was really exceptional.  And for all that power you gave us, you did leave us very vulnerable to an attack from above which was cool!  Had to be strategic in one spot where they were coming down at me--I used the wall for cover and sure enough the rockets blew up on the wall for me!  Very nice work!

Good idea and a very eye catching title. I also liked making a beautiful rainbow. The game seems very familar to me for some reason. Well executed!

I love literal titles. The art was very good and the game mechanics were great. The sound effect and music were a great addition.

Wow! What a game. If I talk about controls and concept, this game is underrated. Very interesting and fun gameplay. Great use of temperature too. Great job!

Very original and fun. Only found it a bit difficult to heat the balloon while at the same time move in a direction. If they could be done simultaneously I think this would be a bit better.

Probably one of the most unique takes on the theme I've seen yet. With better art and slightly improved controls, this could be a banger of a game!

A really solid, and strangely addictive, game! I love the simplicity of the controls, and congratulations on making all of the assets and sounds yourself. I also really liked that the status of the balloon is displayed visually on the balloon itself, creating a really clean UI. The only problem I had was the spawn rate of the rockets, as trying to fill the balloon, vent steam, and dodge was quite tricky later on. Looking forward to seeing if you take it any further!
