If you want to check out how I made the game (the devlog for the game), check it out here:
The way the levels build themselves is awesome, and some of the levels were quite challenging. Sometimes I felt like the hitboxes were a little too big, I often felt that the corners of my collider were a little too big (or maybe that's just because I'm bad at platformers haha!). I got to level 10 but it was a bit too challenging for me so I quit there, but overall pretty fun game!
Thank you for the great feedback! I definitely need to work on the hitboxes as many other people also had problems with it.... but level 10 is really good! You basically completed the game! The levels started to get really hard around 7 and 8, so getting to level 10 is a great acomplishment:) I am glad you had fun playing the game and thanks again for the feedback!
I love the way the levels build themselves through completion, super creative and fun spin on the theme. Platforming could be a bit tighter imo; I think a bit higher gravity and less slippery movement would help a bit, and hit detection feels a bit unfair at times. Otherwise a solid game and I had a lot of fun with it!
Thank you for the great feedback! And I will definitely look to make those changes once the jam ends, thank you! I am glad you enjoyed besides that!
Great game! Art is cool! I think the music is a bit off the style. Also, I prefer platform games to be predictable, it shouldn't slide that much. Super meat boy is a great example! I like the way you increase the level complexity though
Thank you for the great feedback! Yah I probably would get rid of the sliding as well since the game is pretty much based on precision... whoops! Thank you for the feedback though!
Fun little game. Definitely a little too hard for my taste (got about to level 5 before stopping). The audio was great, though the SFX I had to turn way down cause they got really repetitive. The hit boxes were the most frustrating part as you feel like you should've been able to get a bit closer without dying. For a game jam this was a very well put together game! I assume it follows the theme since it starts with nothing for each level and slowly adds to it. Overall a quite good game
Thank you very much for your feedback! I am glad you enjoyed.. for the most part (I am not the greatest when dealing with difficulty, definitely have to work on it)! Thanks again!
Great game, I really enjoyed it. Good animation and music. Some levels are really hard because of tight spaces and need of really good timing. Anyway, I reached level 9 with 3 Easter eggs and wasn't able to pass it. Again, it is a fun game to play and I saw no bug.
Thank you for your feedback! That is actually really good to get 3 of the Easter eggs I thought I really hid them! Well done, I am glad you enjoyed playing!
Fun game! Well made, I ended up breaking the game somehow and couldn't continiue on, but it was fun!
Thank you for the feedback. It is unfortunate that you somehow broke the game, do you know by any chance what you did? But, I hope you enjoyed besides that!
Not sure, I got to an easter egg scene but then it instantly dissapeared and the game soft-locked.
Uh oh, I got to look into it then, thank you for the feedback though!
I really like your game. The music is good, a chill vibe and beat going on. The sound effects though kind of get repetitive. The player still has a bit of momentum after letting go of the movement controls, which gets a bit annoying if I'm between two blades and trying not to touch one of them lol The artwork is amazing and cute - I gave you full marks for it. It just misses out a bit on audio. It captures the theme really well though. Well done and you should be proud of yourself!
Thank you for the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed the game and yah I should probably fix the momentum for this game as I see now it could ruin the precision (thank you). And if the music got repetitive you could have lowered it or turned it off... but anyways, thank you for playing and I hoped you liked it!
QUite a good game. I got some issue with the collision. As the collision box is quite large we get hurt when we want to jump between two creature with a 45 ° angle. Appart from that it's too bad that the jump high is so low so you got very hight space of play that is almost never used. Alors a small tips for pixel art you must pay attention about the pixel size and the scale of image. here you got small images that are scale up with something that look like a bilinear cubic interpolation that give blurry pixel art. Apart from that well done you have created a well working game (no bug found) with lot of levels. GG.
Thank you for your feedback! I agree with everything you said, there was a bunch of blank space which I wasn't able to maximize and use to my advantage. And next time I'll make sure to scale up the pixel art before implementing it so it wouldn't have a fuzzy look. Besides that I hope you enjoyed playing!
yhea it was a good moment.
I love the rhinos, they look super cool. The game is too hard for my taste tho. I couln't even play trough the whole game because of the high difficulty level. (Or maybe I'm just bad at games xD) Also the hitboxes of the traps and enemys are too big. It's difficult to tell if your in safety or not. The sounddesign on the other hand is very good. I love the sfx and the music.
Thank you for your feedback! Yah I agree I do struggle a bit with the degree of difficulty when making games. Do you know at what point it got a bit too hard? If you do that would be helpful to know. I am really glad you liked the sfx and music and I hope you enjoyed!
About at level 8 I began to really struggle. I think the floaty movement and the imprecise hitboxes where the things that made it difficult. But otherwise I really enjoyed playing your game.
Thank you again! Yah the levels toward the end really get difficult... my bad. I didn't want to make it super easy though, but I guess I made it too hard! Thank you for your feedback and playing!
