Solid little puzzle game, good use of the theme. I would have liked to see some special blocks to mix up the gameplay a little, like a rainbow block that will match anything or a block that changes color when rotated

Great idea, thanks!

The gameplay is cool, but the rotation is really hard to visualize, it they actually rotated and smoothed changed their positions it would be better.

Developer

Thanks a lot! I agree that the rotation requires additional animation to clarify it.

Once I understand the gameplay it becomes easier and I got 5050 scores, I stopped just because it is not challenging. Maybe later levels could be more difficult and if there is a level-up sound effect would be better. Nice game!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I agree that a difficulty mechanism is needed.

Interesting idea. I liked the way it made you think about combinations. I managed to get a few max matches.

It would've been nice to get a bit more clarification on what rotation means cus I thought I was spinning the entire square as opposed to just shuffling the blocks around it until I got a few levels into the game

Developer

Thanks, I agree. Will probably use animation to clarify the rotation mechanism.

Cool idea! It took me a minute to realize that rotating was moving each cube once rather than rotating the entire cube, but once I figured that out (and that you could rotate the center cube too) I had some fun! I read some of the other comments and see you are interested in randomly generated levels rather than needing to create a bunch, which I totally understand, but I think the game could benefit from a few handcrafted levels to get the point across before jumping into procedurally generated ones. Knowing that you limited yourself to just a couple of hours though, this game is impressive and I enjoyed the puzzle!

Nice idea! I think with a bit of polish and working out the rng to get a good solvable puzzle each time, it could be really good. Great job.

Cool game idea..

Solid submission! I think the only issue I had was some of the levels seemed inherently unsolveable. Now that could just be me, but if the level generation involves having a solution then rotating 6 sides randomly, then it needs to be made simpler. The solution won't be so apparent each time, and so maybe having 9-10 matches and then shuffling would be a better approach. Nonetheless, a very clever game!

Thanks a lot! Liked this idea :)

Cool concept. I think it just needs an instruction at the start of the game (or my guess is that you're still working on the game).

Gameplay-wise, I think it's still a little rough to grasp what players need to do for the first-time players. So, maybe add a bit of text/image to teach the players what's their goal is. And maybe just a thought of switching the genre from score-based to level-based puzzles perhaps?

Nice game for mobile players by the way, my high score is 800.

Edit: I will rate it later :)

Happy that you like it :)

I agree with almost everything you said. I limited my work time on this game to just a few hours. Therefore I had to skip the player onboarding completely.

Regarding moving it to level-based puzzles: you've probably noticed that one of the concepts of this game is that each 'round' is created by random. In general, I'm interested in games that use some mechanism to create the content, and less on me creating levels one by one in the editor. My other game, Noisy Space, uses this approach also as well. In Noisy Space, I used procedural generation based on the Perlin Noise function instead of a simple random, so all players get a similar experience without me needing to create many levels.

Goal

Match as many cubes in the middle circle to cube on the outer circle.

How to play?

  1. Click on the rotation icons to rotate cubes in the circle.
  2. You have 6 clicks to get as many matches as you can.
  3. You must use all clicks.
  4. After using all clicks, you must have 6 matches to continue.
  5. If you don't have 6 matches, you lose.
