Interesting take on the theme! There were a few bugs with collision - I even jumped out of the screen and didn't reset - but it wasn't a major issue because of the saves. Good job :)
Hey, just played your game ! I really liked the simplicity of the artstyle, it's quite pleasant for the eyes.
However, i found the game a bit too easy. Especially because i could often run trough the spikes like if there was nothing (see picture below). Also, the concept is quite good, but personnally i found the levels a bit too repetitive. To me it lacks a game mechanic that spices things up a bit.
All in all, your game needs just a bit more balancing to me, but it's still quite good, so keep it up !
NB : j'espère que ta chaîne marchera, je te souhaite bon courage pour la suite ;)
Good entry.
- Solid mechanics.
- Nice music and audio.
- Simple yet pleasing art style.
- Great job with teaching the mechanics!
I like the way you used the theme and that the levels get smaller with fewer jumps. Good job!
I very much like the implementation of the theme and practically using each level in different sizes. There were some issues with the hitboxes of the spikes.
Great use of the theme! This is precision platforming boiled down to it’s bare essentials, really nicely done. Love the music and the visual style too!
funny game, the music is really nice and movement are smooth, well done !
I like the idea of the game!
Its a pretty solid take on the theme, the music has my seal of approval, its creative, the gameplay is mostly good and the art is nice and simple! :)
2 complaints though
1 - Its a little finnicky to get maximum jump height, i have to press it for around 1 entire second then i can release it and it kinda just feels wrong
2 - BUG: if theres a spike on a ground and a wall next to it, 70% of the time if you slide down the wall onto where the spike is, you wont die and will just clip into the spike.
Overall, its a solid game though! 7.5/10!
My ears! The music and death sounds were super crunchy (not a bad thing), but waaaay too loud. The artstyle is REALLY good (just a dew camera/aspect rotation settings, couldn't see the end goal in some levels or the entirety of the menus), but the theme connection (while there!) feels more like a level design construct than an actual mechanic. The player movement was on point, although maybe make it so you don't have to keep holding jump to get the max height?
It's really fun! It would be great to have restart button, because I fell out of platform on some level and never get back( Like the idea, that every time this is the same level, but you a bigger.
This was fun and a super unique Idea! I did notice that I wasnt dying on contact of spike I would have to move around for it to register to kill me. Super cool though!
This is fun! I'm impressed by how much you made out of a very simple mechanic.
I wish the rules of movement were slightly better communicated/defined. I figured out that getting a running start makes you go higher pretty early, but the movement sometimes felt a bit unintuitive.
Also, you might be aware, but the spike kill boxes are a bit too small in places. I saw the spike animation but didn't die a number of times.
I do love the little shadow visual effect on the player. It makes a visual style that's basically "oops all orange" look really slick!
Great submission, easy to understand, good music, and fun premise.
If you were to develop this further I'd look to tighten up the controls a bit more as the jump feels a bit floaty,
And since you're already displaying your number of jumps, why don't update the text with the number you currently have.
This could be a fun mobile game well done.
