What a twist! Love how you tell the story like its a game development progression!

The puzzle when I have turned into a pebble is neat but it sometimes it a bit hard to gauge where my roll would ended up sometimes since at a certain spot it will stop me.

Aside from that, charming game!

I like the storytelling, and the meta direction you were going for. Puzzle's pretty fun, and I like the fact that there is additional incentive to explore in the puzzle levels (which does not seem easy to do considering that you'll need to come up with an alt solution to the puzzle on the same level)
My gameplay ended after I rolled out of the map downwards and it went on forever. Can't really tell if the game has ended after the dialogue with the RPGMaker slime,
Good job! Thanks for making this!

Very Interesting! Tho first play when I press Z it does not progress the dialogues, so I retry once more it finally goes through. I like the empty sprite become pebbles, it caught me off guard hahaha

At the final place when I met the blue guy, I roll downwards, wonder if the void has anything there. LOL
I am curious so I let the pebble roll for 5 minutes I guess.

Thanks for awakening my curiosity on finding hidden easter eggs!

I liked your take on the corrupted theme with the game and the development of it being corrupted. I also liked the puzzles with rolling the pebbles. It reminded me of the sliding ice puzzles in old pokemon games. Also glad that us posting our progress helped encourage others to keep working on their games!

Developer

The game-progress channel is definitely a life saver everytime I'm not motivated to do stuff. And I'm glad you enjoyed the puzzles! Thanks for playing the game!

Very cool concept of switching the gameplay after the pebble sprite set assigned. It would be cool if the player has to use both platforming and rolling to solve the puzzles.

Developer

Oh, that would be a nice addition to the gameplay! It could also potentially be even more frustrating to play with my janky scripts :D. Thanks for playing!

Very interesting take on the jam theme!

The puzzle section got a bit frustrating for me but I somehow managed to figure out the right pattern after some tries. Oh and the narrative was very intriguing!

I think I ran into a bug the first time I tried the game as the dialogue got stuck in the first level and couldn't progress.

It would be interesting to expand the game into multiple and more complex game genres as the mystery creature "evolves".

Developer

Yes! I wanted to evoke that frustration in players and make them relive the beauty of Pokemon's Gold/Silver/Crystal ice cave puzzle lmao. Though try as I might, I couldn't make the puzzle anymore tougher than what's been uploaded due to skill issue... For the dialogue bug, it's definitely due to my lack of understanding on how reload_scene() truly works.
Also, the mystery creature? I hope he trips and falls (lovingly). I appreciate you playing the game, thanks!

You absolutely gamed the system by setting the game inside a godot project. It feels like one because it is one. I think you did really good across the board, the rolling puzzles were pretty fun.
I did have a couple of weird bugs, firstly I'm pretty sure dying on the first level breaks it and if you replay the game after completing it, you end up in a state where you can't jump. I almost couldn't get it working but I'm glad I kept trying cause it was worth the time.

Developer

Yuuuuuuuuup, I just found out about the dialogue bug on the first level today as well..... :))))))))))))))) What's worse, even with my project open, I can't tell what would be the issue as I ensured the entire level is reloaded if a death were to occur at any point in the level.
As for the second bug, :) (: :) (: :) (:
Now how did that happen? :) That wasn't there before. (: I hate that blue slime, it's probably his fault anyways. :) Thanks for pointing it out tho, and thanks alot for playing!

Nice mechanics. I was afraid it wasn't working when I started because I was a pink square xD.

Developer

That's my secret, always disguise your laziness as "storytelling". XD Thanks for playing!

I really enjoyed the banter in the game and the little notes that you get from collecting coins are also really neat. The rolling mechanic is fun to play with, although there were some parts I didn't understand, like where I would respawn if I rolled off the level. Great game!

Developer

I would guess that the second half of level 2 is what you're talkin about. Yup, that would actually be my fault as my scripts are too messy to begin with... :))) But I figured, since you would always return back at where you last "teleported" and that the "teleported" spots are always linked with another and ONLY with each other, I'd leave the players to figure it out for themselves and not explain anymore in-game or I would have created a visual novel instead with the amount of texts I'm writing out. xD Thank you for playin the game!

Really enjoyed the banter between the game and the player, reminds me of similar dynamics like in Portal 2 or Stanley Parable. Being able to intentionally go out of bounds (cuz no walls) got me thinking "What if there're secrets the "narrator" doesn't want me to know about? What if there's like a corrupted text file with some dark secret?". That probably wasn't the intention, but the edgy side of me thinks that'd be cool 😎.

Developer

I actually did want to add more secrets/easter eggs at the last section of level but I was running out of time and if I had to write one more boolean to check where the player is currently at, I'd go insane . :) Thanks for playing!

Nice idea with the message boxes/story! I had the bug where I couldn't pass the first level without collecting the coin (press z  twice didn't help). Also couldn't pass the second level, but that might be my skill issue -_-

Developer(+1)

Nah, when I went back in my godot project, apparently it is another kind of bug.... :))))) I knew I should have taken the 2 days of bugfixin seriously but currently, I don't think I understand where the bug would be coming from on my own wacky scripts. Thanks for pointing it out tho!
As for the second level, I hope you'd at least could reach the first button to unlock the next step of the "puzzle"? The coin placements were deliberately placed at trickier spots and I was hoping I didn't make it too hard. I appreciate you trying it out though!

Another game worthy of the "Raezarius Humor". Always some Stuff to laugh at and nice job for just trying out how gdscript works xD Also nice seeing the insights you had after collecting the coins. Hope that one day your procrastination doesn't get that much in the way as you wrote it out to be.

Developer

Man, the day my procrastination can be managed, I'd be much more productive as a person :) Thanks for playin!
