I really liked the artwork but had a hard time determining the hitboxes of the enemies.

I loved the hand drawn artwork of the characters. Unfortunately the immersion is taken away seeing how disjointed it is with the backgrounds. I found the key controls a little clunky, making the combat a little frustrating.

Overall (3/5):  It was a great attempt! Love the love that went into it, nice and ambient!

Gameplay (2/5): I kept pressing E to continue talking to the characters at first, then realized that I had to press Space to continue to talk to them. C and F are placed weirdly on my keyboard, and I didn't find it very comfortable to fight with them. Not intuitive, and definitely a minor error to fix. The sprite for Freyja only really move right and left, and I was expecting to see 4 directional sprites for her. A lot of large colliders to go around and get stuck on. Implementing y-sorting could have been interesting for the skeletons to not come on top of the fence.

Graphics (3/5): I loved the style, but felt there were some inconsistencies in detail and artstyles between the environment and the characters. I absolutely loved how cute those skeletons were! Very much enjoyed the animations as well. The sheer amount of art that went into the game is surprising, good job!

Audio (4/5): I admit that I felt that it kind of blared as soon as the game began, and I was worried about balancing issues. However, all negative thoughts flew away as I got immersed into the mood of the game. Very nice touch and kudos on managing to switch between "combat" and "non-combative/ambient" music, depending on what Freyja was doing!

Thematic (4/5) and Historical Accuracy (3/5): Feel free to debate me on this, but since I had little to work with in terms of lore to cross-check, the ratings sit where they do.

Small nitpick, but I found the itch page for your submission to be relatively barebone compared to how colorful and interesting the game world itself was. I would suggest taking some time and sprucing it up to reflect the liveliness of your art and music!

I really like the hand-drawn graphics with the main character’s animation! I thought I’d try to defeat the skeletons anyway with an attractive protagonist. One thing that bothered me was that the movement was a bit choppy at times, probably due to the light, and the music switched frequently, which changed the atmosphere a bit.

Great job creating a game with this basic system and mythological atmosphere in one week!

Good game, I like it. Great looking game assets and interesting dialogs/story. I met and talked to some other Gods and slayed a decent amount of skeletons. Wonder if there is an ending - do I have to find and slay all of these "bone skinny" guys to become the Goddess of War?

Thank you SO MUCH for the comment!
We are considering turning the game into something a bit bigger (I don't know, an hour adventure or something?) so feedback like yours is super helpful for future improvements!
The game hasn't got an ending yet. Hope we didn't have you walking around without knowing what else to do for too long  :(
Thank you again!

good visual style of characters, good music and sounds. a little tricky controls, you need to get used to hitboxes. And a little strange behavior in skeletons, sometimes they become an easy target

Developer

Thank you Levori!
Much appreciate the comment about the controllers. Sometimes you test the game that much that you lose the perception of this type of thing. We will keep it in mind!
And yes, we are aware that skeletons are a bit stupid sometimes. Something extra to work on :)

The Game really shines with their Art and Audio, especially for a 7 week Game Jam it is really polished!

Although the Controls are a bit hard to learn at the start (Atleast for me) , they do feel fluid after you played a little bit. The Skeleton army are a fair challenge, but sometimes they move at one point, which makes them sometimes an easy target.

Its a good game and im suprised how much there is in the game with Dialog, tons of Animations e.t.c .

Developer

Thank you Wavemonade!

Maybe you are right and there are "too many controllers at the start". Maybe worthy to write down the controllers under the life-bar?

Again, thank you so much for the big feedback. We really appreciated it and it will really help us if we finally decided to make the game a bit bigger :)
