For a first game, this was definitely well done and very creative with all the different forms of shape-shifting and effects!
It wasn’t always clear where interactions needed to happen, especially with the cake part, which took me a while. But I managed to finish the game in the end!
Some extra guidance for the player and clearer highlights on interactive objects would be helpful.
Visually and audio-wise, everything was fine. The theme was present—check ✅
Great to read that you had fun and learned a lot—that’s what matters most in a jam!
Keep it up in future games and jams! 🎮
The idea is really cool - and the atmosphere is really nice, the background sounds fit and make it kind of eerie, like a prison is supposed to be.
Overall, great work! Especially for your first game. Keep creating!
Here's some additional things I have noted:
Really creative idea! The shapeshifting mechanic is fun and adds depth to the puzzles.
Atmosphere is minimal but immersive, and some moments really make you think.
Impressive work for a first game — well done
Pretty good for your first game. I think the game could use a bit more user feedback. There's actually 2 approaches to consider (imo):
I had this with the cake and mouse. It just made sense so these kind of interactions are really nice. But the shower was a bit harder for me because I couldn't distinct the shower switch from the background, so I just walked around and clicked everywhere. If you are more deliberate in guiding the player by making it pop out I believe it will improve their enjoyment (but avoid the yellow paint problem, were you quite literally tell the player just do this).
All in all, good job on this!
Excellent effort for a novice.
Thank you so much for your feedback!
I thought this was a clever game! Great job on the theme. Really smooth animations and effects. Would love to work with you in the future! You have some great style. Awesome first game!
Thank you so much for your feedback—it truly means a lot to me! It would be an absolute pleasure to work together someday. I really enjoyed your game and I’m sure we could create something fantastic as a team. I’m genuinely a big fan of your work!
For the first game, it's pretty good, but there are some issues with the animation settings and the interface. Also, when I turned into an ant, if I walked to the right, it looked to the left, and vice versa. However, for the first game, the mechanics are decent and fit the theme. Overall, I enjoyed the game, although it's not perfect, but it was very interesting
Thank you for your feedback! I really appreciate you pointing out the animation and interface issues—especially the ant movement bug where the direction gets flipped. I’ll definitely look into fixing that. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the mechanics and felt they fit the theme. It means a lot that you found the game interesting, even if it’s not perfect yet. Thanks again for playing and sharing your thoughts!
great job on your first game! I got stuck on the kitchen level, but overall I like the escape room style puzzles!
Thank you so much for the playtest! I should've let something indicating the puzzle on the kitchen, I didnt have much time to fix. But thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it!
I really like the concept of turning into different thinks to escape prison! You did a really great job for your first game! I'm really impressed with the art, animations, and music! The game was a bit confusing sometimes, but it was fairly straightforward. You should proud of what you created, especially considering you made it in 10 days! I also think you did a great job with the thumbnail and decorating your itch.io page! A lot of people usually just slap their game onto a default white page, which I've never really understood (like, you made a whole game and you're just going to ruin the vibe by keeping it on a white page). Anyway, you did a great job and I hope you keep making games!
Thank you so much, I am so glad you liked it. I see that the game needs a lot of work ahead but I am pretty sure that in the future I will fix and polish my game. Thank you for your feedback!
Very interesting puzzle platformer!
Beautiful graphics and music too! The end screen music is fun!
One small advice would be to highlight all objects, both interactive and non-interactiveso that the player has the joy of figuring out what to do.
Thank you! I appreciate your comments and feedback! The music was really interesting to make, I have never done it but I do pay atention to every beat in musics overall!
Thank you for the advice also, I will make sure to fix it in the future!
The main mechanic is very interesting, it's original, the artstyle is very good and it's fun to play, it's very good for your first game. congratulations!
Thank you for playing and thanks so much for your feedback!
really cool game, love the mechanic and the puzzle design, very well implemented and excelent first game, congratulations x3
Thank you so much for your feedback!
So far, the most original game i've played, i love how you interpreted the theme. Great job!
Thank you so much, I appreciate it!
Congrats on your first game! It only gets easier from here :)
For a first game this was pretty good! I liked how the elements interacted with eachother. Also- it's cool that you decided to use some more advanced features of unity (particle effects!). Changing character behavior was also a nice touch.
I've encountered some bugs. The ant needs to gain speed to enter the pipe, and the cake can fall sideways, (apparently the I can't interact with the ant in that case). Also- the "interact" text could be bigger (ant it didn't appear on the ant and the rope in the end).
Over all- this was good (and for the fist game- really good). You clearly had a vision of what you wanted to do, and I think you might have achieved it :)
Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for your comment! I truly appreciate all feedback—it really helps me improve. You're absolutely right, there are quite a few bugs in the game, and I just need more time to fix them. I’m planning to polish and improve several aspects in the future, and I’ll do my best to make the next game even better. Thanks again for your kind words—it means a lot!
nice game it was fun to play
Thank you so much! I am glad you liked it.
I really liked the puzzles and the concept! Nice pixel art and the sound effects were really good! For some interactions you had to click multiple times to actually interact but you did a very good job for your first game :)
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the puzzles and the concept—it means a lot! I appreciate you pointing out the interaction issue; I'll definitely look into improving that in future updates. Thanks again for playing and for your kind words.
This is actually really good as a first game, congratulations. The game was short but i actually enjoyed it & felt surprised when it ended, like i wanted more to play. Loved the concept of using environment objects to take their form and proceed. Great work overall!
Thank you so much! That really means a lot. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it, even if it was short—I'll definitely aim to expand on the concept in the future. I had a lot of fun creating the shapeshifting mechanic, so hearing that it stood out is very encouraging. Thanks again for the support and kind words!
Unique and creative!
I really love this concept of being able to shapeshift into different objects, and you implemented it perfectly! The sense of atmosphere was also spot-on, from the realistic sound effects to the smooth animations.
The pixel art style is really cool and works well for this game, but it isn't too cohesive. The pixels seem to be different sizes in different areas, and there are many places where the art doesn't quite line up or fit in. The game feels raw - a prototype brimming with potential, but without much polish.
Your choice of sound effects and other atmosphere-building features is great! It definitely felt very immersive and engaging. The puzzles were also very logical and made sense, but the controls felt a little janky. I also feel that the theme wasn't tied into the core gameplay very strongly, and while the mechanic of shapeshifting does relate to "everything is a resource", it is a bit of a loose interpretation.
For a first game, this is really amazing! This game has a ton of charm, personality, and character and I enjoyed playing it immensely :D
Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback! I'm really happy you enjoyed the core concept and atmosphere—it means a lot. I completely understand what you said about the pixel art and visual cohesion; that’s definitely an area I want to refine moving forward. I also appreciate your points about the controls and the connection to the theme—those insights are super helpful and will guide me as I continue developing and polishing future projects. Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback! :)
GAMEPLAY: You've clearly got talent as a game designer; if I were reading the flowchart for this on paper, I'd be very interested. What you need now is polish, which takes time to develop. Great for a first game, but keep at it. The physics are oddly slippery, and some interactions feel off (why does the smoke not hit the ground? I assume the sprite itself has a transparent buffer, but it makes the fan segment look wrong). The rhythm of analyzing the room and finding tools to escape with gets my adventure-game-loving heart a'pumping.
VISUALS: The assets themselves are largely good-quality pixel art, but some of the animations seem mistimed or misaligned (e.g. the character bounce turning into a jitter or the ass-sliding ant). The lighting details are a charming bonus.
AUDIO: The menu promised me music, but I was given none :(. The ambient noise is nice, but I feel like a game like this could've done better with a tune.
THEME: As a game centered around resourcefulness, you've certainly met the mark, and I think taking this concept to 'everything' would've been outside the scope of a jam anyhow. Good work!
Thank you so much for your feedback, this is exactly the kind of feedback a game developer needs to grow and improve. I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into your comments; it means more to me than I can express. Your insights have motivated me even more, and I’ll definitely take your advice to heart as I continue to develop my skills. Thank you again!
Fun Puzzles I like the ideas behind them. For a first game this is Great!
Thank you so for the feedback!
