Doing crane work with audio is a cool idea. The sound effect of the accident is really vivid.

If there is some occassional light effect for hint, I think it would be better, because at the first time I play I failed to figure out what I was doing in the dark XD.

Hi! The game has a very nice idea, but I think that you should have given more hints and feedback to the player. I didn't know if I was making any progress while playing. You did a good job with the audio, so maybe you could build something on top of that, while keeping accessibility in mind. The 1-bit pixel art style was good, especially when the lights come into play, but at the beginning was very hard on the eyes, maybe more diverse tiles would have helped to give some contrast. Congrats for experimenting with this idea, good job!

This is a very original entry, it would be nice if there were a sound that plays when you hit or grab a box. I also like the lighting. cool game.

Wow, this was interesting. Absolutely loved the use of stereo sound and general idea. It think it would have been helpful to have a bit more experience using the crane and experiencing the sounds before it going dark. I think it also would have been nice if the successful grab sound was a bit more obvious, or if the sound of the crane moving when you were holding an object was different (again, maybe I just needed to familiarize myself with it more) because as I working my way through it I kept questioning whether I had actually grabbed a box or not. I kept dropping them to try to get an idea.

Overall, I think a little more hinting as to the state of things, why it was dark, and what exactly you’re doing would have been nice, but I did eventually complete it successfully! Nice job, and kudos for trying such a unique idea!

Developer(+1)

Dropping them to figure out if you've grabbed them was my intended method for finding them out! It seems just giving sound cues for grabbing stuff was much better idea.

A really unique game, would have appreciated some hint of if you're grabbing anything, could even stick to the audio only feedback just with a clunk if it succeeds, but I escaped in the end.

Well done

Really love the art style and lighting. The sound was excellent too. I just could not figure out what to do though or whether or not I was actually making any progress.

Congrats on your first GWJ entry!

very original idea, definitely thinking outside the box! But I think purely relying on audio is a limiting design. It's impossible to play if you're muted, hard of hearing, or even just have crappy speakers without good stereo L/R channels. I couldn't really tell where the crane was so I got frustrated and didn't want to progress.

The intro was fantastic though! Excellent sound design, storytelling and building atmosphere. The accident was really well done and immersive. I wish the game had been a bit more accessible to keep playing! Imagine a red emergency light that blinks on the crane every 3-5 seconds. So you are very limited by sight, but the player can still know exactly where they are at any time. And maybe the crane could be a little faster.

Thanks for playing! The red emergency light seems like a good idea! It would give some data to the players. Perhaps I could add it also to give more atmosphere

I had to try a second time to be able to escape. It's a nice idea, just a few more hints and I believe it would be even better :)

Developer(+1)

Wow! I'm surprised someone actually managed to escape. I was starting to think I made the game way too hard. Thanks for playing.

The art is so nice, unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to leave the box ... Is it possible to have a hint ? I really watn to try the rest of the game.

Developer

Sure! After the explosion, the boxes are blocking the exit door. use the cranes to clear the boxes from exit. Use sounds made by cranes hitting the boxes to figure out where they are. When the boxes are moved, you can push the door to exit.

Good idea, but had no way to know I was making progress

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! It seems I oversaw people will have no idea what is going on after they were trapped. I'd take to consideration on my future projects.

Trying to track the crane with audio is hard and I don't know if I'm actually picking anything up. (hint I don't think I am) game is a cool concept and pretty well executed. I want to try and get out and I'll probably be back to figure it out. good job

Developer

Thank you for playing! Come to think of it, giving feedback(or response) on picking something up is kinda critical. I don't know why I didn't think of that sooner.

Such a striking art style! But I found it a little hard on the eyes in the opening scene.

Once I was trapped I couldn't figure out where the crane was or how to start freeing myself...

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Maybe I should've use more black instead of white. I've made so to give contrast after being trapped, but it is a bit hard on your eyes.
