Wildcards Used
Here comes the sun / Think inside the box / Betrayal

Game Description
Your minions woke you up from your grave. It's time to rise to power once again! But before, you will have to escape the church that was your prison. The priest locked the door so you will need to find the key in order to escape. Be careful though, your minions arrived just before dawn, so the sun is rising fast! Use your powers to escape, and if you feel that you may not make it in time, maybe you could sacrifice some of your dear minions...

How does your game tie into the theme?
You must escape a church as a Vampire, while avoiding the rising sun and midly betraying your minions.

I really enjoyed this one, excellent work. It took me a few tries but I had fun figuring out the puzzle each time. Beautiful art, the characters were adorable, especially Dracul.
I kept wanting to just click on the space to move to it, as opposed to using the WASD keys, but that's super minor. I also would have loved a bit more sound design, but I like the music quite a bit.
Truly great work!

Thanks a lot for playing our game and enjoying it !! The vampire sprite was done by RGS_Dev, alongside other ressources found on itch.io it really helped to achieve a really cool look !

We will try to release a reworked version with more polished controls and audio feedback, thanks a lot for your feedback !

Congrats on your first GWJ entry! Really cool project. You implemented quite a few features. I liked the dialog at the beginning, and the art work. I played a few times and struggled to succeed in escaping. I did make a skeleton though which was cool. :)

Thanks a lot for playing our game and enjoying it !! Difficulty is really a hard thing to tailor, we would definitely invest more time on this aspect next time !

I really liked the vampire theme and the sense of humor on this game :)

Probably an issue with my machine but the game kept crashing in both Safari and Chrome for me. Hope it's not an issue for anyone else!

Thank you for playing the game and enjoying it ! :)

I only tested the game in Firefox so I can't tell, I'll try to reproduce the crash, thank you for the information.

There is a lot in this game.  With a little polish it would really shine and I would love to play it again :)  Great work

Really vibey game! I love the concept and the systems built up here. I think it shows a lot of potential! I also had trouble with the spell mechanics and felt like the game wasn't responding to me pressing any of the spell buttons. So that made me question if something was broken, or was I just not doing it correctly? Since there wasn't any audio or visual feedback I was left scratching my head a bit.

I really liked the writing and the sense of humor and personality in the game, but the font was a bit tough to read which made it harder to get immersed.

I played a few times and found it really difficult to win. My dracula seemed to die unexpectedly somehow even though I was very careful not to put him in any light or garlic.

Love the depth and variety of mechanics! I think another pass on audio & visual feedback/overall clarity could do wonders for this game. It as a lot of potential! Awesome art, interesting mechanics and strategy, and a unique turn-based system. Excellent work!

Thanks a lot for you review, we are really glad that you enjoyed the game !

Spell system should work, I tested the game when I uploaded it. You can have more information by hovering the skills icons. But indeed we knew that it was the biggest flaw of the game, we will rework it to deliver a more polished version.

We will take into consideration your remarks about the font and the dificulty to understand what is damaging the vampire. We did not have time to implement a log system that would tell the player the cause of the death. A tutorial would help for this and the spell system as well, we will add one.

Arts mostly came from free to use assets, the credited artists are to congrats for this part ^^

Thanks again for playing the game and your feedback !

really like this one. The sense of humor and style are right up my alley, and the gameplay is deceptively challenging (well, at least for me).

I found how and when you could use the powers a bit confusing... for example, I couldn't seem to get the teleport one to work at all. If you're planning on working on this anymore, just some more indication of how each of those work might be nice.

But I'm sort of nitpicking just for the sake of offering some feedback. I really do dig this big time. Excellent little game.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, we are really glad that you enjoyed playing the game !

We knew that one flaw of the game was the spell system, I made a bad design decision at the start and we didn't find the time to correct it during the jam ^^" Did you get that by hovering the skill icon there was some indication on the spell system ?

Again thanks a lot for your feedback!

Ah, I just went back in and took a look and I see those indicators. I had indeed missed that. Definitely clears up a bit of the issues I was having!
