Always great to see more 3D games and a funny entry you made there. The combination of the music and the simple yet effective 3D Art and the setup of the game made it pretty hilarious. Maybe the controls itself weren’t the smoothest but it was good enough to have fun and enjoy the game.

Good job and great team effort!

Thanks so much for your comment and for taking to the time to play our game!

I liked the sprint, it made me feel like I was zooming :D I kept missing my prey though, and sucking the air next to them lol

Developer

Lol yes the sucking mechanics would have been best to be triggered only on close proximity to the prey. Thanks for you comment!

This was a super cool game! Santa and his elves were getting sucked dry, although they weren't in the instructions, finding the sprint and jump controls where initiative and make the game feel better! That music though,  I was vibing the entire time! got to 4k points! good job

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate you liked the music and were able to jam with it. Our aim was to make the music in such a way it would have a feel of nostalgia, spookyness, and the chiming bells of Xmas.

Great job! As a fellow creator of pixelated low poly 3d vampire games, I love the aesthetic. The music was also a highlight. There were a couple times my character randomly stopped responding to inputs for a bit. Also, I think the movement could use some lerping. Well done though!

great aesthetic, I love the retro pixel 3d style. The movement doesn't feel great, but I enjoyed playing.

Great idea and I love the aesthetic - very nostalgic. Pixelated 3d looks great.

Managed to get to 8000 points, but then got stuck on an invisible wall

You may have hit a high score there!! Thank you.

Well thought out, planned, and executed game.  Fits the theme well.

I think the jumping mechanic could use a little more work.  And some of the graphics could use some polish.  Maybe more animations and animation fluidity between the movement states.

I'm sure ya'll put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this project.  Good job!

Man those angels are a pain lol
I do wish the controls were smoother, and that left clicking would not start animating unless I can actually feed! I found myself panic-clicking then getting stuck on the animation while the angels beat me up... 😅

Effectively, it's a runner that lets you stop or slow down to change your direction. I can see an inspiration from Race the Sun here.

However, the nature of having to stop for every single thing means that the pacing is incredibly rough. It also took me a little bit to register good hits because missing is incredibly punishing.

For others trying to get through, the strat is to sprint forward as much as you can, and only feed when your hunger bar is at least 1/4 emptied. Illumination is not capped at 0, so your sprint and hunger become resources that you want to keep regenerating. Leaving sprint at full is wasteful, and eating when hunger bar is full is also wasteful.

I feel for the team here, though, as I was learning about 3D space on this go around myself. I'm sure we'll be seeing you all again in January!
