A good interpretation of the theme, a fun clicker game, and interesting mechanics. Placing down buildings was satisfying, I like how they aligned to the planet circle. As others have said, it needs balance work and could use another mechanic in there.

I like the gloomy aspect of the game, the sense of impending doom with the music.

It does remind me of this game though :

But also, the clicker and idle aspect reminded me of this video

Good entry!

Oh, that blackthornprod game looks so juicy. I need more animations in my game! Thanks for the feedback.

Watching the video a bit more, looks like even the game idea is similar to mine! :)

Hey Elektito! This was a pretty interesting entry. I really liked the core concept. It's crazy how much just balancing some numbers can change a game completely. I think the game starts off pretty strong. And then you hit this super grindy mid to end game. At any rate, I destroyed the planet lol. Winni- wait a second. :P

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing D4ys, and for the feedback. I realized too late into development that balancing this game would be very very hard, especially in the short time that I had, so in the end I settled for it being just "winnable"! :)

I love how atmospheric and chill this game is. As previous commenters said there's a tiny bump where you start waiting for a few upgrades but I play quite a few Idle games and said bump isn't too uncommong to be honest. An idea would be to add another mechanic that keeps the user occupied in those moments. There's a few incremental games out there that are open-source maybe look at these for some inspiration for working out your formulas and whatnot, one very involved one that's one of my favourites would be https://github.com/pmotschmann/Evolve

Developer

Yeah, I'd be sure to take a look at that. Thanks.

I found myself getting board of the gameplay very quickly.

Lots of clicking and waiting and clicking without much strategy.

Just wait until I can afford something place it and click upgrade 5 times. click through all the buildings clicking upgrade, then place another building and repeat.

The graphics are nice though.

Developer

I guess even for an idle game, it's a bit dull. Thanks for playing.

Not bad for a jam though. And its a hard problem! I would totally struggle to make that style of game interesting. Even professorially build games in that genera can get dull.

I wonder what makes the really good ones fun.

That's a good question, and I don't know. There's this idle breakout game for example that I enjoy every once in a while. Not in long bursts though, but it's fun watching numbers go crazy high and high. There used to be a time that I was into Adventure Capitalist too. All get boring after a while though, but I don't mind playing a bit here and there. Still, not sure what makes an idle game be above just an accelerating counter.

reflection of our reality, I like the minimalist design, the sfx, simply everything. Good Work!

it's funny that it is submitted "43 seconds before the deadline" XD

Yeah, it was really close! Thanks for playing.

Great job done. Like die Music it greats a awesome atmosphere. Also the Design/UI is nice minemalistic and intuitive.

Really fun game and sadly,  it is realistic. The music fit in well and the controls were very intuitive.

Developer

Thanks for giving this a try. I do hope that we don't get to the end-game in real life.

Not a bad clicker game! I feel like there are a lot of icons and numbers and systems that I wasn't sure how they all interacted, but keeping everything as maxed as possible seems to work pretty well.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I know the game could use a better help system, but sadly I run out of time for that. I've added some explanation to the itch page, but I know that's not a replacement for actual in-game help.
