12700! And then- I had to make it stop. So I jumped on a spike.. >.< I was feeling like a carrot junky. The game isn't very hard, and there isn't much to do. But! Because of how smooth and responsive it felt overall, I didn't mind trying to rack up the points. Some variation would have been nice. But I think that this being your 2nd Jam entry ever by the looks of it, and the fact you were solo, you did pretty good. Keeping programming and making those games!

Better than anything I could make solo, that's for sure!

Developer(+1)

Yes this is my 2nd Jam. But hopefully not the last.

The variation is a problem and if I did have more time then I would have added more enemies in it to spice it up a bit.

After the jam was finish then I got an idea for making it harder (I did not think about it before the deadline). I could use the score as a factor of the speed. So the more points you have the faster it moves. Do you think that would have helped on the difficulties?

Submitted

Absolutely! I think that would be a great way to make it a little harder.

Nice game. I like the graphics a lot :D

Developer(+1)

I cannot take credit for the graphics (unfortunately).

Kenney (https://kenney.itch.io/) made it. If you dont know him then I will recommend checking him out

A good start. Could use some more variety, and maybe improved art and audio. Spiky head guys are my favorite, they are danger but they are too cute!!

Developer

I do have some ideas for some more variety, special for the enemies and some tweaks. I might even put out a update with those thing in

Ok, i'm not good at this game... 4000 is my highscore xD

Graphics are very nice and fitting. Hitbox for the carrots could be a bit bigger, bit overall its a very nice game.
Your jump mechanic feels much better than in heartbeat, and the level-generation is pretty nice.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words.

It is a good starting point but some more variety would be great. I like the platform speedrun mechanics.

Developer

I did try to add a more enemies to the game but I did not manage to make them feel "right".

I scored 7100 and felt like I could have kept going for ages, maybe making the speed get faster the longer you stay alive would keep it challenging for longer. Good job!

Developer

That is a very need idea that I did not think of myself

Pretty good - I think with some more polish and some of your own art, you'd have a nice game. I enjoyed this though as a basic platformer.

Developer(+1)

I have tried to make some artwork (pixel art) but this is not my area of expertise.

My girlfriend and I have talked about that she might join at some point and she is a professional artist. I hope that she one day will take one of my game and replace the artwork from Kenney with something good.

About the polished then I agree with you.  The code that generates the terrain need more attention and I should have added more enemies in

I hate those little spikey headed guys so much. Good job though.

Developer

I did tough about adding more  obstacles than those spikey gus. Maybe I will make a new version after the voting is over
