this concept is so cool, controls are a little difficult but it's a lot of fun!

Super creative concept! Like others have said, a bit hard to control. But really interesting!

Neat idea! The control jank is a little much for me but I love the concept.

Absolutely amazing. I love your take on the theme, it's a really cool concept.

Making the tools a bit snappier might make the game more user-friendly, though perhaps it would also lose some charm in the process.

Either way, good job and congratulations on finishing the jam!

Thanks! I really appreciate that!

I feel like key to fixing tools is to make it informative and predictable, e.g. point it exactly at mouse cursor, while still leave it swinging for more challenge and fun. I'll try it later. I'm glad you enjoyed my game!

Glitchy finger will invade my dreams. 💯

(More seriously, very creative idea. Speed up the physics, or roll all 6 at once, and it could improve the experience.)

Thanks a lot! I'm currently working on ideas of how to improve it after the jam. Your suggestions are in the list!

Oh yes, the finger... I had no time to map the textures on the models properly, so I just added a projector with an image to the scene. And since all tools share the same  layer, it must be knife texture being projected on the finger from outside the screen. Sorry, didn't mean to make a horror game :)

tbh, I didn't enjoy the janky controls, BUT I couldn't stop trying to make the perfect dice. This might be the most creative take on the theme I've seen, and it is fairly impressive on a technical level.

Thanks for your reply! I'm glad you enjoyed that!

Many people address controls, and I will surely try to fix it when I continue developing. The clumsiness itself is an intended mechanic, but it shouldn't be chaotic. The idea is you cannot un-cut the wood, so you must be careful with wobbly knife not to cut too much. And if you do, you must then adapt and work with a little piece that's left.

I plan on placing the tool exactly over there point the mouse cursor is pointing at. Also I will make the shadow under the tool sharper, so it can be used as a "crosshair". Or even highlight selected face under each tool, not just marker.

I'm also glad you appreciated  the technical part, I spent a significant part of my time during the jam making all the geometry work. Thanks

Really creative and cool concept for a jam. Would be interested to see how this turns out if you keep working on it and refining elements. Good job!

This idea is incredibly creative, an actual physics system is a great way to "load the dice"!

The two main things I think could be improved are the controls (you could either go for more Octodad chaotic controls, or maybe more precise controls and focus on a more puzzle feel) and the "level design" (with more time, in limited supply during a jam, more levels with more specific requirements could be developed). It would also be great if the rolling of the dice were to be sped up (which should be possible with a physics system? I'm not too familiar)

The inclusion of an interactive tutorial was also a great touch! (I think without it, the mechanics could have been a bit confusing.)

Great job on your entry!

Thanks for your reply!

I am actually planning on developing this further after the jam ends. There were features I didn't have time to include, and now there are even more ideas for this game.

Physics must be fastened. Another way to do it is to copy the dice and throw multiple copies of it simultaneously, then read value from each one (same thing you do irl in a big board game to roll many numbers at once). More levels are also required.

Whoever is interested, stay tuned for the future of this game. I still can't guarantee I'll do it, but I'll try :) And thanks again for your reply, it really helps me stay motivated and enjoy this jam!

Incredibly creative idea, a bit hard to actually play though with somewhat finnicky controls for moving the dice around

really inventive! Great twist on the theme!

It took me a while to realize the right side of the dice was removed when cutting.
But when if figured it was quite enjoyable!

Wow, runs nice and smooth, the concept seems very interesting but I had some trouble getting myself around even with the tutorial.  maybe adding some slight visual cues could be an interesting next step👍👍

Thanks a lot for reply!
I wanted to add a big arrow pointing on what to click on each page of the tutorial. But I simply ran out of time. Another 20 minutes would really help.

Thanks

Yeah, nice job tho.. You managed to put a lot of stuff in the game, implementing checks and polishing the visuals in such a short span of time💖👍
