I think that the 'R' key is hard to press.

Lower dice rolls could be remapped to alternate abilities, such as a mid-air dash or ground pound. As the game is currently, rolls of 1 or 2 are useless, wasting time. Replacing 1 / 2 rolls with a move that actually helps the player would make the experience less frustrating. I think that change could make this game much more enjoyable.

Sound effects, reducing the time it takes between jump attempts, and automating the dice rolls would make this game cool to play through. Playing the game with a macro spamming 'R' to recharge the dice has doubled the appeal of the game.

There's also a bug where pressing the character against the wall in anticipation for a jump will cause the wall to 'eat' the jump. The player must jump and then move.

Nice job with what you have. I'd like to see a version with such tweaks in the future.

Norm Idea used dice for jumping

Love the concept of the dice determines how high and far your player can jump. Well done!

Nice idea, but gets annoying after a while: you end up just skipping low values (that would lead to your death) until you get good ones. The necessity of pressing a key to roll a new value (instead of this happening automatically) kind of kills it, too. Maybe if the numbers were re-rolled after every jump and if you couldn’t simply skip them by jumping in one place, it would get better? Also noticed a bug when jumping while another dice is being rolled - the dice stays in the “rolling” state until you jump again (added a screenshot).

Nice Idea of Recreating the Game Using the Theme. good work :)

I liked that the game forced me to think ahead before diving forward - you can't just barrel ahead, you have to decide what to do as you approach each challenge. And I like the idea of playing with jump heights mid-platformer like this.

Some ideas for improvements:

- Sound effects for the die rolls would help make timing easier, it's hard to know when the next jump is ready.

- Currently, one bad die roll can force you to restart the level entirely. A health/hit points system would make taking damage feel a little less punishing (even if it's just like 2 HP because you die)

Nice idea, liked the art work but the game bugged and wouldnt let me jump anymore. Tried switching dice and all sorts.

I kind of like the idea, but it ended up being nothing more than a small frustration in the end, as you can just jump in place with the bad ones to reroll for something better. Also, I feel like tight platforming would get annoying, as basing whether you clear a room solely on luck would remove its "tightness." And I know you used the assets from of the Unity tutorials. But it's definitely a cool concept that you could use in other ways!

Bug fixes:

-Touching a wall kills all your momentum

-Jumping while a die is being rolled still puts the new die in the second slot while the first switches to an error die that seems to effectively be a 1
