Definitely not what I expected going in. Nice job!
really creative approach on this! ( to be honest, I do agree with another post on it being difficult to tell at first if it was the level restarting or the light going out ) -- nicely done :)
Well made game, normally I don't like horror or scary games, but I lived yours, and I can totally see, it being released as full feature indie game with more contents. Regardless given the time constraint this is exceptionally well. I loved the idea that every iteration room changes giving providing some insight to the story.
All around solid game! The mood/setting is well executed and the theme of 'loops' is clear and present. It's also nice to see some story elements being implemented along with the gameplay. Solid work and great submission! :)
I like creepy mood of this game it rare to see in this jam.
Great job at setting the mood, it's always nice when someone dares to try a darker atmosphere in a gamejam and you pulled it off quite well :)
Nice atmosphere. Had a bit of trouble with the flashlight sometimes. i couldn’t tell if i was restarting because my light went out or i’d triggered an event to restart the loop.
great job creating a spooky vibe!
Were the levels all in his mind!? Idk, but this guy's a hero of the school bus variety. Good job!
I love the progression of the story. The cage level is my favorite! Great job
The idea that a horror game or movie uses those rubbish spinning handle torches is hilarious to me! This was a cool concept and interesting take on the theme, the art and overall narrative were quite nice too.
Very cool game! The lighting effects were very interesting, and the gameplay was fun!
Great job. Clever and fun element with the lighting. Mysterious. :)
Great atmosphere and story telling, really impressive!
It was a pretty sad game, at first it was unclear how I progressed to the next levels, but in general the impressions are good
Interesting idea! The story a bit confusing, but it was fun to play through!
this is so cool i love the art style and the mechanics are so good great game 👍
Fantastic game! you have managed to create such a immersive and vivid atmosphere, I'm not embarrassed to admit it that some of the noises spooked me quite a bit! Great job!
You've set a great tone here, very eerie! I played through twice to figure out what the different options do. My favorite part is when the mysterious path on the ground becomes relevant to find your way out of the "cage"! I think the environment is well designed in general as well. It was spooky to wander around and feel a bit lost.
I missed some of the text because it disappears when I click, but I was furiously clicking to keep my flashlight charged 😅... After playing again it doesn't seem like I missed anything too important, but I was afraid that I did!
It was also hard to tell sometimes when the level was resetting because I "failed", or because I "succeeded". It was fairly obvious after starting again, but I never quite felt like I did something right because I was afraid I had done something wrong or not fast enough. The sounds to tell when something useful was complete are nice, but I was never quite sure if I was done yet!
I sat still for a while after the "Choose" text, trying to figure out what the other option was instead of picking up the tool--I only realized on my second playthrough that it's probably a reference to the end of that level. Maybe the text could pop up later?
Great work!
Yessir I beat the game. It was kinda confusing at the start but I soon figured out how to play, nice story!
At the start I didn't understand anything, but after replaying a few times I got it. Interesting game, that atmosphere is just perfect
