I'll have to play it again to see it haha

Hi there! Thanks for playing!
The difficulty has been a point of contention amongst the dev team haha. Mostly in relation to the amount of crates needed to level the cannons; adding to this you can actually shoot the boxes with the cannons to collect them (although we didn't telegraph this very well) but we do find it speeds up their collection a lot! Ironically we nerfed the first cannon somewhat to make it feel weaker so that the next tier of cannon felt more like a substantial upgrade, once you get there though we think that fighting back and using the cannons feels much more intuitive.
The movement itself is meant to feel somewhat floaty, what with being hurled around a whirlpool. We had nerfed the speed a lot with the sails down to give people a safety net for recovering and also lowered the amount people get dragged into the whirlpool's center. But overall crashing into rocks is a consequence of being too focused on one aspect of the ship for too long instead of balancing the tasks. Admittedly there is a learning curve to it, and the short play session times jams encourage don't really lend themselves to learning the intricacies of the sailing.
Glad to hear you think it's well put together though and liked the idea! Personally I'd love to expand upon it with some further tweaks to the cameras, controls and balancing. Because we have had a lot of feedback about those areas specifically haha.
Out of curiosity, how far through the fight did you manage to get?
Cool metroidvania styled game, I was quite excited to hunt down the items however I found the respawn mechanic to be a little bit unintuitive. There's a lot of punishment for exploring and trying new things. If I've managed to gather some upgrades and then I think "I can probably make this jump now" and I screw it up, having to restart from scratch hurts. I understand though that your looping mechanic relies on the return to the bird cage to remain alive and stash the items for the future. Often though I'd die to other threats before my health would drain enough to be an issue and that was a hard restart.
The movement felt smooth though! And jumping around, especially the triple jump, felt like it gave enough air control that you could do a lot with it. I also love a good set of hidden breakable walls slightly out of the way and the desire to explore far enough to see what's beyond them. Nice work!
yeah the cameras can be a little tricky to get used to. Initially we were going to have the cannons need reloading, which would have made people leave them and see where they were heading, but we ran short on time. Glad you enjoyed it though and that you liked the art style! Means a lot! :D thanks for playing
I like a space laser! This was a cool concept, I liked setting up the space laser and having to pick the correct layout to protect! I initially wanted to destroy every rock but quickly realized I just needed to break the ones hitting the planet. 1 issue I did have is that the lasers would sometimes not function if I didn't adjust them between failed attempts, which I didn't want to move them because they were already angled correctly. Audio and art matched the game quite nicely and overall I think it was a good jam game! nice one
Spooky atmosphere. I kept expecting to look at the room icon showing the key and myself and suddenly a third icon would appear and follow me, always 3 rooms behind. Really neat concept and it feels like although these puzzles were simple, there could be a lot of potential for more complex ones.
Would have been nice for the doors that keys can't move through to be highlighted before interacting but that's really my only critique, nice work
This was a cool idea! I'm not sure if sometimes it was generating early rounds that you would auto lose or if I was being too stupid and missing something but once I got a generation that seemed to get me beyond 2 tax I was on a roll and having a pretty good time! I did accidentally break the game I think by killing a bandit whilst I was stood on it's tile, which prevented me from moving forwards. This was a lot of fun though all around despite the bugs. The art was cute and the inspiration from loop hero really speaks to me! Great work
Interesting idea! I have a small gripe in that I didn't really like that on normal mode my past self seemed to still speed up against me. I am notoriously bad at racing games so figured I'd have an easy race against myself for the second lap because past me, the noob, would be crashing into every corner or taking them wide and learning the root, but he zipped off care free with utter disregard for the walls with which I had collided! I though perhaps I had hit hard mode by accident so after several failed attempts to beat myself I tried another really purposefully slow lap. TO which I watched myself who I figured sucked at the game suddenly become sonic himself! It did leave me laughing and I still had a good time with it, but I would have preferred it I think if past me really had truly been my past ghost. Good job though, I liked the art and the race tracks route :)
I had a friend literally a couple of hours ago mention that they wished it had a pause because they had to go shopping haha. It never crossed our minds but we also know it can take a while sometimes depending on ship spawns. That said I'm impressed you managed to scuttle away safely for long enough to get a drink! Glad you enjoyed the OP cannons too!
Artwork and music was very nice, gave the game a cute style! I thought the overall idea was very cool with the fast changing seasons being the loop and the price of produce going up and down. I only wish there had been slightly more complexity to it with various other crops. I'm also not sure that having to hit the button multiple times in order to call, load and send the truck off really added too much (Other than I forgot to send it off multiple times and lost loads of money :( ) Either way cool idea and neat execution! Good work :)
Was a cute story, I liked the lil hermit crab and his old cartoony style. I found it a bit annoying that a wave would come through and just wipe out my stairs though and sometimes items would just seemingly be washed away before I could grab them. Still though very cute game and I liked the idea! Nice work
Nifty idea tbh. I figured there'd be a lot of racing track type games but this is an interesting take where cutting across your timestream reduces your time down, really found myself trying to get a better time over and over. I will say the car felt a little bit janky to control at times BUT I've heard the same thing about 20 times for my game haha. Had a lot of fun with this, nice work!
Super cool game concept! I was a bit afraid of eating my own tail even when the game told me it was safe (enough) to do so. The art was very charming and the map growing as the snake grew was a great twist! I will say however that the enemy knockback was quite irritating, at time it would throw me into multiple things and deal more damage than I could deal with and it felt majorly out of my control. I once got knocked back so far that I was knocked off screen into the next zone, all I could do was helplessly watch as my snake slowly vanished off screen never to return...
Fun game though! Had a blast!
Game was cute! Liked the concept and was excited to get tied in knots on my keyboard, however some keys didn't seem to align correctly. specifically number keys to the left of number keys I already had pressed wouldn't work? Maybe I was just missing something but sadly I kept being soft locked by this and after 4 game reloads I had to stop.
The game was generally charming art and sound wise and I think the idea was sound itself, nice work!
This was super cool! All the art music and sounds were great! The robots reminded me of the robots in sonic haha. The controls were smooth enough although sometimes I felt like I was taking damage on near misses. I also felt it could be kind of hard to match the weakness type too easily and didn't initially understand how it worked but I picked it up by the end. Great game, you all did great work!
