How does your game fit the theme?
You play as someone caught in an endless loop of torment, just trying to drive home. The road repeats, the incidents loop, yet it all leads to a conclusion.

In hindsight, it was a poor decision on my part to play with at half past midnight with my 3 week old son sleeping next to me (don't worry, I had headphones at least).
The good news is that I feel awake enough to keep gaming!
:P
Everything about this game seems well done, especially for a game jam.
If you asked me how long I thought it took to make this, I would have guessed 1 month.
Very well done on the visuals, sound, the controls felt smooth, and I loved that I could change the radio station.
:)
I don't like the horror genre, in general, so I'm not too sure how this rates as a horror experience.
One thing that I, personally, would have liked is a bit more clarity on what the heck happened in the past, and what is going on now.
I kept driving and driving because I wanted to solve that mystery!
I used your advice on the game page to get the secret ending, but I am still left with questions.
However, I suspect that this is deliberate, and perhaps even a semi-standard thing for horror stories?
Thank you so much for playing, thank goodness for headphones 😂
Thank you so much for the in-depth feedback, so happy you liked it! Believe it or not, I'm not one much for horror games either! With regards to the story though, I wanted to leave it open ended by choice, kind of vague enough while also giving enough clues to what might of happened. But also the narrative was a bit of a miracle with the time constraints, so I'll say it was mostly intentional, partly that I'd like to have done a bit more!
Yeah, it felt like an artistic choice, so you did very well there.
:)
It wasn't how I hoped it would go; but sometimes leaving it open is better.
There have been plenty of mystery stories where the explanation was clearly thought up at the last second, and it can ruin the whole thing if the "reveal" doesn't make any sense.
For a game jam, leaving it open is probably the best way to go.
For sure, totally agree that if it was a full game I wouldn't want to leave anyone disappointed in not getting an actual conclusion or explanation for the events, but I can kind of get away with it here! I want to update post jam period with more endings and to flesh it out a bit more, I hope you'll be able to check it out then!
Unique and well executed player controller and viewing angle for a psychological horror game. Gives the player a fun movement system to play with in the moments in between the horror sequences.
Just completed the game. Really liked the story, it's like he did something wrong in past, maybe he left some people to die and now he is trapped in the guilt forever looping every single day. So good!
The psychological horror vibe was pretty strong along with the black & white pixel graphics with a touch of blood. Sound design was also on point. The car's control was also perfect.
Awesome short story game. Loved it. :)
The game has a nice style.
I recommend playing this nice soothing game before bed! It really calmed me down!
I probably can’t say more than what’s already been said by others. Good game!
Thank you so much, just saying that is more than enough! Haha I really appreciate it, thanks for playing it!
I feel like I've just played a full game, that was really amazing. I think you completely nailed every aspect of what makes for an effective psychological horror, as well as just a game that keeps you hooked until the very end. I thought the monochrome colour rule being broken for the more horrific events was a great touch
Thank you so, so much! Seriously high praise coming from what you achieved with your game, so glad you liked it!
Absolutely fantastic love the visuals love the music and love the horror very nicely done my only feedback is that I think I got a bug whare I was driving left to right for the second half of the game so I could not see the stuff on the side of the road but fantastic even with that.
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback! I totally agree with that btw, I'll update after the jam to increase the near camera draw distance so you can actually see the car on the road instead of just in between gaps in the trees!
We had very similar perspective/driving mechanics, but totally different vibes!
Very nice narrative, super creepy! Just to be sure, after you get all the way back to the menu you've played the whole game right?
Honestly super different, loved the chaotic nature of yours! Thanks so much for playing! And yes, that's the "proper" ending back to the main menu, time ran out for making it a bit more natural feeling!
Okay good, it did feel like that was the end but you never expect it to be so short until you remember this only took 4 days!
Very good! This is one of the best games i've played so far! I love the visual effects throughout the game.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Your game has also been one of my faves so far, so huge praise indeed, so happy you enjoyed it!
Very impressive game, the creepy atmosphere works so well, I really enjoyed it. Nice work!
Thank you so much, so happy to hear it!
Loved this game! I'm a sucker for horror, very atmospheric and I like the style and the details! Great work!
Very interesting and atmospheric. I loved the details of the rotating plates.
Thank you, so happy that was noticed since I reduced the variety of signs as time crunch set in, so happy you liked it!
The style is impeccable, both audio and visuals, i can't even tell if the loud clicking noise that sometimes plays is a bug or a feature because it is very unsettling. The gameplay itself is nothing to write home about, but the car feels good to control. I do feel like the ending sequence could have done without the text, just let it speak for itself, your car speeding down the lane and you can't control it and know exactly what is going to, or already has happened, the text felt very on the nose, but maybe i'm alone with this.
Thank you so much for the feedback and kind words! I actually 100% see what you mean about that, could have been a more subtle "you know where this is going" ending. I might try to add some more endings post-jam, including something like that just for a slightly less "in your face" end!
this is such a cool game
well done, you should be proud
Thank you so much for the kind words, so glad you enjoyed it!
I really liked this one, it was very stylistic and had a great atmosphere, and plenty of good scares.
Huge praise coming from you, your entry was absolutely amzing, and completely terrifying! Thanks so much for playing mine, so glad you liked it!
I got a little hooked trying to get all endings so yeah it's a good game. Loved the graphics, the 80s music, the atmosphere and drifting in the turns. Trying to get the secret ending i ended up in the void which was pretty funny
Whoops... Too late for me to claim the void is a secret secret ending? 😂 So glad you liked it, it really means a lot! (also if you didn't manage to get the secret ending cause of the bugs, a sure fire way is to just keep reversing after every respawn at the start!)
Nice game, I really like the style and the little touches like being able to switch the radio! The atmosphere was both creepy and cool!
I don't play a lot of horror games, but this is AMAZING. Honestly it's my favorite game I've found on here so far.
SPOILER
I just got to the part where the main character encountered a monster in the middle of the road without legs. The way the trees turned into faces was so good, I audibly gasped.
Haha so happy you liked it so much, it means a lot to hear it! Also I have to admit that part gave me goosebumps so many times when I was first implementing it 😂
Graphics look awesome! Music is also a banger!
