Cool idea! I had a really hard time figuring out what everything does, but there's definitely a lot of potential here. Great work!
Really impressive functionality here! Nice work
This is actually really impressive for 48 hours - one of our brainstorming ideas was to make a factory game, but we thought it would be too complicated to build in such a short time, so seeing a functional one here is very cool. That being said, like a lot of the other comments here, better readability for the UI would have been helpful, especially something like a quick tutorial or tooltips to explain what blocks do
Okay, it took a lot of time, but I managed to understand how to produce stuff!
A lot of people said it, and I agree, this game really needs either a tutorial, or better icons: at first, I thought the compressor thing to make iron gears was a drill to extract metal ^^
Although, the conveyor belt and furnace were easy to read, and the color palette is nice, the game still has some good visuals here and there.
Apart from that issue, for a 48h game, it works and it is fun to try to organize everything for the growing factory, granted you really have to figure out the machinery first. ^^'
Not a bad job at all! =)
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I loved the concept (factory games are my jam), but I couldn't figure out what any of the blocks to place did - especially with such a small grid to experiment with in the opening level.
Thanks for the feedback! The buildings can be experimented with a little bit in the 3x3 space, but yes, it would have been much better if what they did was actually explained, unfortunately I ran out of time to implement that.
Wow this is very functional factory game. Seems like you got all the systems working real well in a short jam. That's awesome. Took quite a bit of experimentation. Could be improved by some clearer graphics or tutorial. Having all the ore sources be the same color made it hard to tell what they produced.
Thanks a lot, implementing even basic factory game mechanics was a lot more difficult and time consuming than I had initially anticipated. I ended up running out of time to add a tutorial, but I definitely would have added one if I had a little more time.
Sorry, I couldn't figure out the objective of the game. When i move iron plates to the base (that's what I believe indicated with a flag), nothing happens for some reason. It still says 2/5.
Update: It took me a very long time to figure out that it asks me to give 2 plates per second
Haha maybe I should have made the S a little more distinct from a 5, sorry for the confusion.
i made the thing go off-screen with WASD and now i dont know where it is or what i am supposed to do
Ah... I didn't account for that xD. If you can't find your way back the only way to fix it is to restart the page and start over.
The controls are a bit painful and with the low resolution graphics it becomes pretty hard to see what's going on. But the core gameplay is nice and I'd like to play more of it.
Thanks for the feedback! It's my first attempt at making something like this, and I would have changed the controls a lot had I done it again. I should have added an explainer for stuff like this but you can zoom in and out using scroll wheel to see stuff a little easier.
I didn't understand what was going on, Icons were a bit confusing
Sorry about that, I didn't end up having enough time to add a tutorial to explain that stuff.
Pretty fun, but I had to stumble through cause I wasn't 100% sure what all the icons meant.
Thanks! I wanted to add a tutorial but ran out of time, so sorry that it was a little confusing.
I didnt understand a lot of it but, I also made a factory game that is hard to understand. A tutorial and instructions would be nice other than that super cool concept. Good Work!
Thanks a lot! I was planning to add a tutorial of some kind, but ran out of time for it.
I didn't understand much of it.
It would be nice if there was a built-in tutorial
I was planning to add a tutorial but ran out of time.
