This game was a ton of fun! I love the concept and it turned out really great gameplay-wise. Definitely could use a bit of polishing, though:

  • The camera needs to be a bit more zoomed out, so it's more possible to see parts/enemies
  • The background needs to have scrolling elements so it's actually possible to tell your speed and direction
  • Missile self damage needs to either be heavily nerfed, removed, or made easier to see when and where they will explode.
  • A lot of enemies exploded before even attacking because I assume they had missiles? Most of the damage I took after getting missiles was just explosion self-damage.
  • Turret bullet rotations and positions don't line up with their graphics, which looks quite odd. Slow the turret graphic rotation down to match their actual angles.

Despite all that though, the game is really solid and could totally be expanded upon in future. Great job!

By far and away the best "build ship shoot enemy build better ship" style game I have played so far. The design choice to build in between levels is super good, the different ui is excellent. As is the art and the sound! Well done!

the ide is pretty good, with the waves and stuff, tho it was a bit eazy and there was to many enemys. also the camera was to small.

I really like the style. Keeping your parts being to rearrange your ship, and replay a level made the game feel fresh and fun.  Any idea why for i time all of the parts I got were engines?

Developer

Thank you for playing!

The problem with the multiple engines is a known bug, and we will fix it after the game jam :)

Really great game, probably my favourite I've played in the whole jam so far. I love the building mechanics and love when I had loads of guns that I could just melt stuff. I would say the bullet speed could probably be a little higher, and the ship a bit more maneuverable, but other than that great game!

aaaaaaa i think i got a bit over powerd, love it, nice job (=

I loved this idea. The building mechanic was great. It felt a little bit like the board game space trucker.
Its not clear how engines work. Do you just put them in? Do they replace thrusters?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing our game :D.

Thrusters are there to have a higher max speed. The idea behind the engine block was that it makes your ship accelerate faster and makes it faster to get to the max speed. But in this build of the game the engine block is sadly broken but we'll fix it after the jam ;).

So fun!! Seeing the little ship grow into something massive and powerful is very satisfying! The pacing could've been faster, and some music would've been good, but really great job overall!

Fun and chaotic ship builder. You do get a lot of engines, and lasers are slow, and it starts off really hard but later gets to the point where enemies die without you even looking at them, but the chaos is fun, the building system is intuitive, and the transitions give the game a polished feel.

Wave complete. Damage Dealt. 14k. Damage taken. 15k.  Why did the game give me over 100 engines if not to apply it as makeshift armour and spin rapidly while shooting the middle of my body to fire bullets in every direction!

I had so much fun with this, it was genuinely the first game that made me laugh out loud at the sheer absurdity of what it would let me get away with. Missile launchers seem kinda of weak with how slow they move but otherwise, hilariously fun. 9/10.

The problem with the many engines, was a little bug, where we wanted to change drop rates of items and through a little value mistake, we broke it and it mainly spawned engines and it was to late to fix it. We will fix it after the 4 days. Thank you for your review :) .

I think the laser shots are a bit too slow, but it's a space game so I like it!

If you're reading this review: stop reading it right now and GO PLAY THIS GAME
This is what I look for when I play jam games-- Pure undistilled CRACK COCAINE gameplay. There are two main gameplay systems here: the wave survival and the ship building, and i love both of them. With some asset work and polish this owuld be even more amazing. PLEASE UPDATE THIS GAME AFTER THE JAM!!! I had to stop myself from playing it to write this review

Ok gushing aside-- Our game isn't as addicting as this but I would also appreciate if you took a look at it!

Very fun game !

Great entry, very polished. Well done to you!

A little difficult at first I find

Submitted(+3)

Its really easy to understand and it can become quite complex. I really enjoy the building your own ship aspect!

Fun game all around! Really enjoyed it and hope you continue development.

At one point, I created a ship that was all speed with basically nothing else just to see if I would move faster, but still didn't feel like my speed or maneuverability was any different. That said, the game is still really fun and actually sent it to a friend of mine to check it out.

A bit addictive :D

Feedback :

- music would be really cool

- right click for big canon ? ♥

- we have no sense of moving and so the speed isn't really useful, maybe having fixed stuff in the background and zoom out could help :3

Great entry, very polished.
The difficulty curve needs some work.
