Probably the most engaging game I've seen all Jam. The gameplay is downright addictive, and you nailed the popping SFX as it feels so satisfying hearing it go off by the dozen.

For me, it lost the appeal of a farming game, but not fully made it as a chill puzzle game. The many rules are too much to keep in mind while palying and the randomness ruined the strategy element for me, because i wasn't fully in control like in chess. The high score system didn't give me enouh payoff or excitement to motivate me.
The art-style is cute and looks awesome, i dig that!
i think first of all i would change the sprites of plants to somehow reflect their abilities to instantly remove the burden of remembering the ability-plant pairings from new players' minds. Also, i would like some visuals for the different abilities other thsn the score popup. And if i can present a more radical idea: i would add sort of side quests like: have 4 cucumbers placed next to each other. And have the revard be that they are then cleared from the map. I think this would balance the randomness and it would also add some short therm goals to keep the players engaged.
Let me know what you think of the ideas
I definitely like them, and the radical idea has some good potential, my only issue with the sprites is that they would cluster up the screen with loads of information at all times. I was suggested by another player to have the catalog 1. start open and 2. carry a GIF of some sorts showing off the crop's ability, what do you think of that?
I think it would be still something i have to hold in my head. I would do something like "vertical vines" and "cordial corns" so something that constantly reminds you if it's ability. And the sprite should subttlely reflect the ability too. Like having a vertical shape or little hands. You could also try small icons or arrows. Look at the game Into the Breach for inspiration.
chef's kiss. so relaxing and has a lot of potential strategies for highest score. I did run into an issue where when the menu pops up for you to pick your flower, when you press down to select the same flower again (so left then left), it doesn't work unless you switch the flowers (L > R > L). Outside of that, amazing job
Loved this one! Such a dangerous time waster haha, good job!
This is a neat little casual game! Might actually sink some time into this after the jam ends. Only real complaint gameplay-wise is that the controls could have been a bit more intuitive (though yeah, also not quite sure what would be more intuitive), but otherwise, very cool!
Nice little tetris type game (arguably better than tetris) LOVED the artstyle and had lots of fun (especially with those juicy juicy cucumber combos)
A few bugs that have mostly been shown below like useless tomatos were prominent, but other than that its a fun lil game(I just read teh scale nots, I really like the theme interpretation too, probably the inspiration for those juciy cucmber chains, eh )
It was a very enjoyable and relaxing game! I think it would have been even more fun if the interaction mechanics were a bit more intuitive and if the crops grew or changed over time. :) Great work!
Yes, I think if there were more noticeable effects when something happens(more juice effects), it would leave a stronger impression. Right now, there's a popping effect, but it seems to be happening simultaneously and the actions are a bit small, so it's easy to miss. However, I really enjoyed it since I'm a big fan of grid combo games.
The look and feel of the game is fantastic! I love the puzzle behind it. One thing which may be a bug, or just not explained is that Carrots seem to activate other carrots, and tomatoes just don't seem to ever activate neighbors. Regardless, very fun!
Very cute graphics! liked the multiplier effect alot! played at https://twitch.tv/hedge vod Day 2
