Great instruction and I like how you incorporated the scaling theme into your tower defense game. Getting to unlock bigger and better defenses and facing bigger enemies is always exciting!! The only thing I would add is that when I got my ass kicked I went into negative health instead of dying haha. Overall great game!

Very cool concept, the neon graphics look amazing and fractals are just cool in general. But you kinda cant lose, the life just drops to negative numbers xD I was at -1700 life when i reached round 50

Developer

Yep I did it by design because I didn't want people to skip on the game if they get stuck in the early waves and are forced to retry a couple times. I probably should have added some "you lose but you can keep playing" text and a restart button

I like the theme of fractals (recursion reference?). Really neat idea on the theme of scaling and a nice spin ion the traditional tower defence game. SFX and visual effects were on point and the game overall felt really polished. Holding the space to speed up the level was also a nice touch - nice job!

(Got to round 30 but itch is not letting me upload my screenshot >:()

Nice thought to use fractals, it's a solid little tower defense

Nice theme using fractals! I appreciate the instructions on screen while playing it, they work as a good tutorial, it really helps and I didn't feel lost. Well balanced timing. Good work!

Very fun! Played till wave 30

despite my efforts trying to crash the game placing a shooter on every possible spot at the end, everything hold up pretty well haha

Developer(+1)

Here's a tip, fill the entire wave 30+ fractal with Markers

Disclaimer, I don't think your browser will like it

I love the mathy take on the theme. Those hexagons messed me up!

Interesting concept for a tower defense, and executed well. I really liked the Wave tower and the way you could push enemies around to group them together and keep them away from the fractal. Good job!

Loved the gameplay style and the VFX is awesome! Really great work!

It's a fun game with nice looking visuals! Having to rethink the turret placement when the fractal scales up made it more interesting too.

I like that the game has a puzzle with the TD part super enjoyable

The fractal placement was a fantastic puzzle. I loved the enemy variety. The scaling fit the theme so well and introduced the mechanics of the game in a manner that always felt like you were playing the whole game. I loved the pushing enemies back mechanic  Fantastic Job.

Fun! Love the idea of abstract fractals as a map. All in all, a solid base for a nice tower defense!

Loved the game! Took a few run to finish it in positive. I forgot that you can sell your unit for 100% of value so I spread my base when it grow!

Surprisingly addictive. Loved the concept and the style of it.

I would appreciate it you would rate our prototype as well :)

Enjoyed it! Probably the best game I've played at the GMTK Game Jam so far this year :)

I did find it quite easy mind. I couldn't work out what the "Fractal Integrity" was (I ended on -10k). Maybe some way to offer jeopardy. So a bit of tinkering with the difficulty, or a high score method, would be great :)

But overall, a good fun game :)

Developer(+1)

Integrity is meant to be HP but I didn't code in a lose condition partly to save time and to let people continue if they feel like it, should they fall in the negative. Definitelly didnt do enough difficulty testing for the later waves and especially after adding selling which is the last thing I did.

Also thank you! Very flattering!

Love the references to different fractals!

Love the fractal idea. Some improvements that come to mind:

- Being able to zoom in on your pieces in later stages

- Speeding enemies up for later stages, or an option for x6 or more speed. Even with x3 speed, the waves still feel slow.

- As the previous comment mentioned, the last few waves are a bit laggy (I only noticed this on x3 speed)

- The game feels a bit too easy, maybe lowering the $ drops could help?

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! Definitelly had the camera controls in the original concept but ended up on the final polish list that never came. I only recently found out the Markers are heavily unoptimized and are the cause of most late-game lag.

Realy nice idea. It begin to lag at later waves and the flimmer of the rail is to much :)
