Pretty fun game with a clever twist on traditional farming simulators! I did run into a bug where I was able to continuously click the "sell all crops" button by the food stand as the thief since the UI popup didn't go away -- ended up with an astronomical number of points, haha. Nonetheless, I found it really fun trying to maximize point output the intended ways! Great work on the visuals/sounds.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for pointing out the bug, did your score display in the scoreboard? It pops up after day 5 ends.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

My score actually couldn't display in the scoreboard because it wouldn't let me submit it for some reason (I tried hitting every key I could think of and the text just stayed in the box?). I figured that was fair enough anyway -- I got something like 21600 points 😅

Of course, it was my pleasure!

Developer(+1)

It does display, I was playing and saw the scoreboard ingame and your name was something like "cheated" or something I don't recall but this is your score on the scoreboard (and your player ID) in the database.

Thanks for playing though at least you told me how to fix the bug haha :D

Submitted(+1)

Ahh ok. Yeah it just never showed up on the UI for me — I was kind of softlocked in the text box by the end of the game. Anyway glad you have the proof and the means to fix it! Sorry I messed up your leaderboard though 😅

Developer(+1)

You didn't haha, thanks for pointing out the bug!

Submitted(+1)

No problem!! And again, great work on the game  :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! (Great job on your game too :D)

I liked the art style. It was fun to play!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, thanks for playing!

Fun little game! Love the art on this one, too bad the farmer is bipolar, he really neds a psicologist if he wants to eat some crops xD

Developer(+1)

Hahahah that's so funny, no one has ever accused him of being bipolar except you, that's hilarious thank you for the laugh (and for playing)!

Submitted(+1)

really enjoyed the art style and was fun to play good job

Developer

Thanks for playing!

The game looks really cool: I liked the sunlight moving as time passed to indicate the time of day. The game was easy to play and understand, even if moving around was a bit slow. It's weird at first that you sabotage your own crops, but then I found it a fun puzzle to figure out which crops I could grow just to get destroyed, as if the farmer knew the thief coming and just accepted it as part of his practice.

Developer

Thank you! there's actually running if you press Left shift haha maybe I should've removed it and just made the player faster to begin with, thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for playing!

As the other commenters pointed out, it felt really counterintuitive to play against yourself at night.

Other than that, I found the game loop easily understandable, even with so many rules, so great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you found it easy, thanks for playing!

Game is fun at first, gets a little repetitive. ||NIGHT 4 😲||I don't really see the point in sabotaging though

Developer

Maybe we'll rework the system after the game jam ends and we'll make the thief sabotage other farmers at night!

Thanks for playing :D

I enjoyed my time playing.

Developer

Im glad you did, thank you for playing!

Good looking game! I think it would make more sense if in day we planted plants and and night we sabotage other people farms to gain points and get advantage. Other than that it's good meditative gameplay)

Developer(+1)

Ooooh yeah that would make so much more sense, thanks for the great idea maybe I'll implement it after the game jam

Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

The art style is really cool. It's a little weird to alternate between two conflicting tasks, and I ended up planting some potatoes each night at the bottom to sabotage for the points and just writing it off as being some tiles missing, but it's a neat concept. Would be interested to have a system to maybe obfuscate the sabotaging so it's a little more risky but overall a cool game!

Developer(+1)

We were originally planning to make some levels, and the sabotaged was supposed to be more indepth (didn't have time) his part was supposed to be more of a stealthy game were you can dodge cameras or other things for a high risk high reward kind of thing.

Glad you enjoyed the game thanks for playing!

Those sound like cool plans! Totally hard to get it all in during a Jam, do you think you'll polish it up at all or just call it there?

Developer(+1)

I'll probably polish it up, make a main menu, pause menu, settings, add more improvements. There's a lot to do for this project but there just wasn't enough time if I'm being honest.

Submitted(+1)

Pretty looking game!

I didn't quite get the hang of it. It felt a bit sad to destroy my crops during the night, and also there wasn't much to do during the night when I had deployed my insects.

Very ambitious game, cool with the day-night cycle.

Developer(+1)

Hopefully after the game jam we can make the thief part better, someone suggested that we can sabotage other peoples farms. Which is a great idea, I can't wait it add more features to the game.

Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Ah, messing with the competition sounds like more fun than messing with myself :D

Developer

Sounds good to me too haha

Submitted(+1)

Hey, thanks so much for rating our game. Great art and impressive that you implemented the farming mechanics in such a short time. I found the night phase a bit confusing, but still overall a great submission.

Developer

Can't lie that cover art caught my eye haha! Shout out to our artist haha, really did a great job I agree. I hope the itch page can clarify how the night time works.

Thank you for playing and great submission my friend!

Nice looking game! The cell shaded look is awesome. The eyes of the people were really creepy :D

Developer

Thank you for playing! I decided to give the thief night vision goggles haha!

cool graphics and a good implementation of the theme

Developer

Thank u for playing!

Really cute graphics and interesting concept for swapping roles at the end of a work day! Was a little confused since I had to sabotage my own crops, but the concept of having someone sabotage the crops and then you have to build up again was really funny! Feels like it could be a super cool 2 player game!

Developer(+1)

I agree it would be better to play with a friend but there's not enough to implement multiplayer + most people don't have a 2nd person to play with during a game jam haha

Thank you for playing!
