Nice usage of doing multiple things with the same mechanic (grabbing and launching). The humor was awesome and it gave the world a lot of life. Great game overall! Also, UCSD represent ^^ (class of '17 here)

Really like the idea. Fun mechanic.

Loved the game. Only real citicism is that the physics on the elastic soul lauchy thing were a little inconsistent at times meaning it was a little random as to whether you'd make your shots regardless of how long you held down the button.

The game itself was very fun, and a neat little idea, executed well.

Awesome game! Loved the art style and the concept was both super creative and very fun

A very cool mechanic, feel like you could definitely build some more progression into it in the continued version, Nice artwork and story. Enjoyed the game very much.

Fun and effective mechanics. The artstyle is very charmingand clean. Some minor gripes I had where that the character feels a bit slidy and the launch mechanic was kinda hard to be precise with.  Loved the lore notes.

Great submission!

Okay first of all, the launch mechanic is awesome. I like how if you get blocked by a tile your soul stays released (used in one of the later levels).

I found a pretty bad glitch: if you return your soul while you're reading a scroll, you get softlocked. You can still restart the level but even then it won't let you move.

I loved that game!! The art style reminds me of hollow knight, but in pixel art. And the idea is just great! Really nice work! :)

Well balanced and cute. I do think this was a common iteration of the theme, but it was executed well

You did a great job with this.

Original gameplay idea, cute story, nice art. I like all aspects about this game. GJ!

Extremely cute story, so fun to maneuver around. Nicely challenging!

I really liked the art style. The slingshot mechanic feels satisfying however there are some levels where precision is really needed and I wasn’t a big fan of that as it made those levels fairly hard and I had to try multiple times.

Best one I've seen so far :o Amazing art and interesting/fun to use mechanic. Good job. But where are there spikes on the prison floor?

Developer

they're in the level you find the page in, I guess you can only see them if you look down / fall off, oops!

Actually I wanted to write "Why are there spikes on the prison floor" to meme the page. I guess I was still tired from crunchtime :D
