It's a cute and pretty fun game! I think it would help if there were something to encourage the player to just continue throwing themselves around the level rather than trying to be overly slow/precise.

Simple idea yet very fun and very well executed. The difficulty went insane at some point, maybe being more permissive with collisions, not making it pixel perfect, would have helped.

Definitely leaving a good rating here!

Wow this was a lot more challenging that I had originally thought it looked! The timing of the physicsy pulses of speed gets real tricky the more and more you get into it, especially with those gravity/galaxy things. I'd say if you continue this after the jam, maybe add some animation to the gravity pools / galaxies, and maybe zoom the player out a bit more (or give them an option to zoom) so they can see whats coming easier? Otherwise, great!

Pretty cool overall, though I feel like it would have been better if the gigantic mines actually exploded ;) I liked the idea though, good job!

Really like the presentation! Was thinking the background could use some parallax but I really like the color scheme and art style and was impressed you guys even got to implement a menu system!

Not a very original idea, but you executed it quite decently. I like that there is a small icon indicating the direction of the flag. Though, I wish the space ship would spin slower. Also, the sound didn't work (if there is any sound). I found the third level to be too difficult, because of the spinning suction thingy (black hole?).

thanks for the input! i agree, there were definitely more original ideas i had in mind before i got started, i ended up deciding on an idea that was simpler because other ideas felt too ambitious for me to finish in time. it'll definitely be something i improve as i get the hang of game jams.

i'm not sure why you didn't hear audio though, there are a few sound effects when moving, winning, or hitting a mine.

Works well. wish the ship spun a little slower. also would have been good if the mines exploded when hit.

This is a fun, simple game. I steered into a lot of mines. The core mechanic is great and the aesthetic is super cool- nicely done!

Looks good, plays good, good mechanics. Great!

Neat concept and elegant presentation! The controls were straightforward, with just the right amount of "clunkiness" to make you feel out of control, yet not frustrate you.

Developer (1 edit)

really good to hear that it was difficult enough to be worth overcoming and not so frustrating it was annoying. that was definitely one of my main concerns regarding balancing movement. thank you for taking time to comment!

Fun! I could imagine throwing on some chill music in the background and playing this for a bit

My favourite fame so far! The gameplay is really fun. With some more mechanics and levels I think it would also have quite some speedrunning potential. The visuals are simple and have pleasing colors.

Developer

thank you! speedrunning was very much on my mind, i considered adding a timer but ultimately decided against it in the end.
