I love the story. Nice and beautiful 16 bit survival.

Please consider playing mine:

Thanks! And yeah ill definitely try your game out, it looks fun

This was lovely.  reminded me of breath of fire.  building up a mental map of the desert was fun.  Possibly could have expressed the theme more explicitly, but who cares.

Developer

Thank you!

i heard people complaining about getting lost, but that is a thing i loved. I mean you're in a desert right? it's normal to get lost. I only gave 4 stars on Adherence because yeah it's only one desert but it's a bit of a stretch. Dunno, not conviced about it. The game is great though.

Developer(+1)

Awesome, thank you! Yeah, one big map probably not the most unique way to adhere to the themexD

Nice game. The art looks really good and the quest are fun. But you know what this game needs... a MAP. At least the map could should me the places I have already visited. The boring part of the game was spending a lot of time scanning the world for location I have already visited (and new places too). Another option is to add more clues or landmark around the desert to guide the player. Other than that, it is really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Great work.

Developer

Great feedback! The more I think of it, I really wish I would have been more aware of the player experience and had added more landmarks with possibly some style of map. I guess that is the ultimate point of these jams, to learn and gain insights! :D

This was a fun adventure!

I got lost a few times but it worked out in the end, it felt quite relaxing actually but I'm not sure if you intended it to be that way.

It reminded me of Ultima games (in a good way) so I was nostalgic even though this is a new game :b

I'm honestly very impressed that this was done in two days, it's a really nice game!

------

Hey, we made a GMTK game too. Check it out!

Developer

Awesome, thanks!

I'm glad to hear it was relaxing. I aimed for a fun, upbeat survival adventure, however I didn't want to hand hold the player through it, especially since it's such a short game :D

Also, just got done playing your game, very fun!

This is pretty cool. Died while running around, right in front of a water source lmao

Developer(+1)

Haha thanks! I'm sure you knew but you can hit cancel/esc for the menu to use a coconut for more health. I wasn't really clear on that so I'll post this here in case :D

(+1)

Ohhhh I collected like 4 coconuts, and wasn't sure how to use them, thanks for the tip!

Good fun game.  Proper old school.  Reminds me of Snes.  Got lost in the dungeon and died.

Developer

Thanks :D

There is a known bug in 1.2, please refer to main itch page for how to avoid it (it's not game breaking luckily). Fix is in 1.3 but can't upload cause of the voting period xD

(+1)

Yeah because it can't upload your game until the vote or game jam ends.

Open world games usually include subtle clues that guide the players without them knowing. I think this game could use some of those.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I did try adding in some direction in the form of footsteps in the sand, but the game could use some more clues for sure.

Very nice to submit your game

Developer

Thanks!

Very cool, of course, if you didn't make it ago

Developer

Thanks, I started this project 3-4 hrs after the jam started. This is my first time participating in anything like this, it was brought up in a discord server and I had a wild idea and went to work!
