What a gem! This game is super fun and addicting, I wish the controls were a bit less "floaty" but the floatiness completely fits with the theme, so it's more accurate like this. Great job!
Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback -- floatiness is definitely *somewhat* intentional, but I still want things to feel smooth.
I've never seen this mechanic before! Very creative! :)
If I had to remake it I'd add some tutorial stages before throwing the player into the action, so I can start off the game winning instead of losing :P
How'd you come up with the idea for the laser?
If you like fire you'll love my entry. ;) Check it out! :D
Thanks! Yeah, I think teaching the player what's going on would be helpful.
I was thinking of making an emotional story-based game where you had to separate your body in half to do tasks, but as I thought about how to do that I decided to go a bit simpler, but keep the idea of splitting yourself in half :)
I'll give your game a try!
This is a really fun mechanic and great use of the theme, nicely done!
Thank you for playing!
Good job for you first jam!
Thanks, much appreciated!
Awesome idea and what you have is done flawlessly. It would have been nice to see some advancement, though. Something like a satellite that launches off your planet and intersects with your ship to give you an upgrade.
Thank you for playing! And that's a great idea -- I was toying with power ups but didn't get them working in time. If I do, I love the idea of them coming from earth and moving from left to right.
Ough, tough! I wish it would only expand while holding down the button. Also could have been a keyboard key. Like hold X to expand, press C to quickly retract. Very nice overall.
Thanks for playing! Definitely -- first things first when I update the game will be to add some additional control options.
Good game! The theme was used wisely!
Thank you!
Thank goodness saving the population wasn't actually left up to me! XD. Very interesting and fun.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! Yeah, it's a hard job :D
Great idea, a great game play and every thing a great game needs but what means 0-714
Thanks! O-714 is the number of your ship specifically. The longer you stay alive, the more secrets you might find about previous ships...
Ohoho spooky backstory. ı will try but it's getting to hard. Did you try my game as well. I have a secret story to but nobody had find it for now.
Not yet -- I'll give it a try now!
Could you find something?
Is it playable in browser or do I need to download to play?
https://liluo.io/ssk/one-by-one you can use it
But because of liluo musics not working
Great game! Really fun concept and use of the theme. Great work!
Thanks much!
Really nice concept and execution! Rated!
Thanks for playing!
Original idea and quite difficult. It is necessary to get close to the asteroid and separate it a little to conserve energy. The music is calm and unobtrusive. Nice work.
Thanks! And that's the perfect strategy -- a barely opened laser won't hurt your durability!
very atmospheric ^^
Thank you!
The graphics and the music looks great! The controls took some time to get used to. Overall nice & neat game !!
Thanks - appreciate that!
Asteroid Janitor , cool nice simple but complex cool game indeed !!
Thanks!
nice game! i like the idea of catching asteroids, although it would feel better if there was an option to play with wasd instead of arrow keys.
Thanks! Yeah, that's a good point. Definitely planning to add that and additional control scheme options (like if someone wants to avoid using their mouse) in the future.
It was gratifying to vaporize the asteroids and the sound/art were nice. Protecting the 8 billion people from their inevitable doom is pretty difficult though! A+ little blinking effect for the text too.
Thanks, appreciate the kind words! The trick (that I learned over days and days of playing) is to keep laser durability as high as possible by constantly closing up your ship to heal, and keeping the laser itself pretty small unless you need to open it up wide to grab a bunch of asteroids. Easier said than done though!
Ahhh that makes sense. I'm going jump back into in a bit and try that out!
The graphics and the gameplay are amazing. Overall, I had a great time playing this game and would highly recommend it to others. Nice game!
Thanks so much!
My best time is 3:45, or 225 seconds. Can you beat it?
I think i can't but let me try to beat that.
Good luck! I've had a week to practice :D
