Awesome, feels like a genuine Gameboy game. Love the HUD too.

Really good feel to this game. I loved the palette changes between levels and the banter interstitials. I did notice a bit of smooth sub-pixel movement, which may just be an engine limitation, but I'd recommend trying to turn this off next time to really be authentic GameBoy.
I always loved these games as a kid, I played one called OverKill by Epic a lot. I remember my Dad went and bought a joystick for us especially to play. Thank you for bringing back that memory!
This is very good. You nailed the style of 1942 and Xevious. The music is a nice background to fly around and shoot to. It makes me feel like I'm on a mission in Star Trek. Really great job.
nice little shooter that is really well wrapped up!
some nice QOL things that i would add to make it a bit more noticeable. If you die, maybe having your ship "flash while invulnerable" for a short period to let the player know they lost a life. It was a bit difficult at times to track my health.
Boss fight felt really odd. I know you stop to battle him, but he felt way to far up the screen and trying to get closer to him would result in not being able to dodge very well. So maybe moving the boss down more so you can see him more.
Also with the boss battle, i feel like you could continue with the background scroll to keep it visually more interesting then stopping. what ends up happening in the current scenario is you go under a cloud that keeps getting in your way so you cant really dodge or guess to dodge well.
I love Tyrian :) Fun shooter. In my opinion camera should be rigid and not follow ship when it goes down on the screen.
So this is a fun game, however, if you hold forward, the screen doesn't move as fast as the player. I would try to keep the player in the middle of the screen so you can see obsticles.
