How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
Spooky creatures doing cruel things to people who probably don't deserve it.

That was quite disturbing! The art is proficient, the character design is charming, the sound design is spooky, and the atmosphere is excellent.
I'm not sure why walking is considerably slower than simply spamming the fly button.
It's a strange decision.[EDIT: 2024 October 6]: I've now seen your replies to earlier comments about this point. It is an understandable problem! The audio is a bit loud; the volume regularly peaks above +0.0 dB.
All-in-all, great work!
Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent little platformer, with really nice atmosphere, moody and spooky! Well done!
Thank you!
Really like the art, shame about the lack of music, but the gameplay is quite fun... My only question is, why is she so heavy? Is she made of stone? lol
Thank you! I can confirm that she is the only character in the game that flinches when landing on the ground, so there must surely be some kind of extra weight there.
The graphics are incredible and the premise is cute! I feel a bit clunky moving around and the screen shake was a little intense, but I think the premise and sprite work is really well done!
Thank you!
This is just a really well made game, the art looks nice the audio is good, I like the puzzle platformer style and this it's executed very well here with the level design. I like how you used spooky and it feels fairly gameboy like. the only major complaint I have is that you move fairly slow and any falling from any height causes the semi-long land animation but the map isn't that big so it's not the end of the world. Overall this is a fairly good game.
Thank you!
I love the presentation on this, it's very gameboy-esque and very spooky and looks great, the effects with lighting and changing palettes are super impressive!
I don't love the movement, even small jumps hit the ground so ponderously and it doesn't feel good to move around. It seemed like there was a glitch when I get hit while in bat form and then quickly turn into a bat again - like the old timer from the first time I turned into a bat was still running, the power wore off much quicker the second time.
This looks and sounds great and I love that it's a complete game with a clear goal, very fun to play, well done!
Thank you, I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of the game.
I believe you are correct about the bug when you are hit while in bat form. The transformation timer isn't stopped as it should be when you get hit, so if you transform once more before it runs out it will transform you back almost instantly.
I originally had a different plan for how the transformation mechanic was supposed to work, and the clunky normal movement was meant to be a contrast to the much smoother bat movement, which originally wasn't going to be something you could use at any time. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it work as I had intended and I had to change my plans.
Thank you for your feedback.
oh it totally worked then! I much preferred moving around in bat form :)
I kike the mechanics and the feedback is good.
Thank you!
Great work! Solid entry. I liked the bat mechanic, simple but effective.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
Wow, nice game!
Thank you!
Great work! I really love the mood with just that noise and rain drops :)

The gameplay and graphics were nice! I think the controls feel a tiny bit clunky but other than that it’s a great game!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Those poor people :(
Great graphics, neat usage of different palettes, and a story that can be understood just from the game itself. Awesome work!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
