That was really cool! The art is striking and charming, the mechanics are insanely fun and fluid, and the soundtrack and gamefeel is simply excellent.

That being said, I wish there were a couple of conventional goal-based platforming levels before the big blitz at the end. I was so used to how the controls feel as a frantic platform-brawler that I only realized on the final level that I had no idea how to use the controls for precision platforming; they're very different skillsets!

While I more-or-less figured everything out, a reference manual for mechanics would've been helpful, given how easy it is to accidentally skip the tutorial text.

All-in-all, fantastic! Great work!

Glad you enjoyed it!

I am probably going to put a reference manual in the game's comments on the itch page, just copy and pasting all of the in-game tutorials into the comment.

The game is fun, but hard to understand. The in-game instructions are easy to close accidentally, and the tiny font is not exactly the most readable. I wish there was a more proper tutorial, but other than that, great job!

Very much reminded me of Super Crate Box.
The combat is fluid, the controls intuitive, the spritework is stellar. The sound effects are on-point.

A very good entry, in all.

The fluid combat is really the highlight! Really nice overall! Well done!

Reminds me of when I was  kid, was not understanding anything I was done, yet, I was having fun! haha
Excellent work! I hope to see more of it <3

this honestly reminds me of arcade mario bros, which either way is still really fun to play. although i was kinda confused in the 3rd level because once i defeated all the enemies, the game kinda just... stops. im not sure if that meant i beat the game or i ran into a bug.

yea I forgot to put the 'Press A and B' notifications in the levels other than 1 and 2

Great in-game instructions and all the mechanisms worked really well!  Super fun to play and the audio/soundtrack was delightful (loved the lightning!).  Awesome!

Oooh! I've come across Dr_Melbot in the wild!
I agree that the in-game instructions were super helpful. This reminded me of playing the vs mode in Super Mario Bros 3 and trying to destroy my brothers so I got another chance at the next level. The controls were tight and levels were well made, as were the sprites. At first the colour palette was a bit hard to read, but as I played it got a bit easier. Great job.

Boo!

And well done again @lights+blue!

This is extremely polished. Not exactly my cup of tea for the genre but the graphics and soundtrack were amazing and the control over the character felt really good. Great job!

This was so much fun! You got a pretty robust combat system here, and presentation was excellent too.

Congrats!

Really like the design of the game. Feels so smooth, and it's fun! Also kinda cool SFX, good job!

controls were a bit funky but after about 5 seconds I got used to it. good game tho I enjoyed it

Took a while to figure out the controls, the text was a bit hard to read. But after that the game was very fun!

Satisfying combat and really fluid movement! You managed to get a lot of nice feeling in such a small resolution! My only personal gripe was the controls took a little time to get used to pressing UP to jump, after a minute or so I got it down though!

Really nice entry!
