Took me a bit of luck, but I managed to launch myself back into the fishbowl with the tennis ball. (too bad it didn't do anything, was just a solid object), it was a nice experience.

I'm pretty sure these two bugs are the same, as it seems that when you fail Round 0 due to the attacks not loading in properly, the code in the Try blocks fails to run properly and crashes, making them unmovable. I will probably try to see if theres a way to make the sword attacks land more consistantly after the jam's period, hopefully that fixes this bug.

There are bugs, such as where the game becomes softlocked on round 0, and the editing screen is sometimes unusable, I think these bugs are device specific, as it seems to happen consistently for some people, but I'm not sure. If you have the bug where it softlocks on Round 0, it may be because the game is running too slowly to properly create the sword attacks, so the windows version may work as it has better preformance (I'm not entirely sure), but I have no idea why the editing screen is sometimes unusable, its probably the click detection or mouse position (maybe fullscreening or unfullscreening helps).

patched

Thanks, fixed the full screen issue (probably), if anyone has a similar problem, you can press S to change the screen scaling mode (this does have some visual artifacting though, so it is disabled by default).

Enjoyed this game, and it shows how it is impossible to have too much juice.

actually nvm i literally just got a round 2 win with c206

Thanks for playing!

my best is a round 3 win...

Thanks for the feedback, as I'm not the most experienced with balancing for this genre, I'm wondering what kinds of cards did you often get stuck on?

minor bug (may fix after the jam), restarting the game can cause the next round win detection to not work properly, try refreshing when restarting the game instead.

The music may be a bit buggy in the web version (im not sure how much), so there is a windows version to download if you want (otherwise, its around the same)

I'll put mine in here as well, enjoy!

When planning out the idea, I thought that a lot of the submissions will use timers so I thought on how I could do timers 'but more'. Thanks for playing it!

ok might as well do some hints for the other levels (except the last), just so you don't get stuck on a level. please don't rely on this list too much.

1 - Agro the enemy to pass

2 - the comment above

3 - after destroying the wall, you need someone to replace it.

4 - you need to posess an insect somehow, taking damage is necessary

5 - the platforms can fly, how can you?

6 - you need someone to break the box for you.

7 - boat powered by fear

I've noticed a few people have gotten stuck on level 2, so I'll try and explain the mechanics and solution if anyone else gets stuck. So do look below if you fell stuck on that level.

In order to get past the wall, you need an attack, similar to the insect's attacks on level 1. The level contains a kind of lemon-yellow insect with a circle around it, and any entity that is that colour will turn anything touching the circle around it into the same type of creature (in this case the insects), which can give you the attack ability to break the wall blocking the flag.

Really good deck-builder, I did find a minor bug where if you use the corn too many times (which my build was centered around), the foods would start to 'stack' on the slot on the left, but it was really satisfying to try and find synergies to beat the game with.

Yeah, I should have had a better tutorial than just placing arrows with the button name on it, and looking back, some levels do have some awkward timings, such as levels 5, 8 and 9. Glad you enjoyed the game, thanks for playing it!

I do understand how  simplifying the controls to one button would help, as when starting to make the game I pressed the wrong button more than a few times. However, I kept it as two buttons as the 'Purple Area' mechanic does act differently depending on what button you press, and I felt that the player should use this mechanic to have more options on approach in the later levels (such as the large purple area in levels 8 and 10). I tried to put a control scheme that uses the arrow keys, which may be a bit more intuitive, even though it does just remap directly to the same actions as X and Z. Thanks for playing it!

I've seen some requests for a manual so, here it is

All tutorials, copy and pasted from the pop ups in case you skip or forget them:

Level 1:

^ To Jump, A/X To Attack. Press B/Z to start. Defeat all the slimes

Hold ^ and press A/X to Double jump. This can be used to Deal Damage.

Play fast, as the sunlight causes you to lose hp over time.

Level 2:

The screen loops horizontally and vertically.

You can swoop into bat mode using B/Z. This can be an attack.

You can use A/X to attack, which will exit bat mode.

Level 3:

Press A/X while holding v to do a Slam Attack.

Slide along a ceiling by touching it in bat mode. This can protect you from the sun.

Jump against a wall to wall jump.

Press A/X and B/Z at the same time after beating wave 3 of a level to continue.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I am probably going to put a reference manual in the game's comments on the itch page, just copy and pasting all of the in-game tutorials into the comment.

yea I forgot to put the 'Press A and B' notifications in the levels other than 1 and 2

As soon as I thought that the game was just going to be a jetpack phsyics game,  t h e   m e c h a n i c s   b e g a n. The game kept introducing new mechanics, which helped keep the game interesting and go well with the simple, yet difficult movement. Quite enjoyable, and also a bit frustrating.

the movement is nice and deep with many different available options for the player. The gravity is very strong, leading to the game being hard and frantic.

All the art for this looks great!

Enjoyed how the design shifted between puzzle and platforming in a seamless way, with how you experimented with the concept being used for speed, precision or puzzle solving.

The linux download may not work, I have not yet tested it, and it probably will not work
