Fun little Newgrounds-esque vibe to this one. Worked well with a controller, though I'd maybe be tempted to simplify the controls
Yes, a couple of the other players have suggested making the tractorbeam auto-activate. It seems like a good way of simplifying the controls, so I plan to look into implementing that change after the game jam wraps up. Thank you for playing my gaming and sharing your thoughts.
Loved the quirky style and the vibe. The UFO and bugs were fun. Maybe the beam could auto-activate when close to crystals? there was a lot of controls going on for my brain haha. Overall, a very fun and charming game

Charming UFO game. The difficulty level is way too high in the beginning.
Please start easy to make sure the player gets the controls before launching a lot of enemies.
The best part is the comical style of the art and music which really makes the game shine.

Excellent theme and storyline. With a bit more tweaking and refinement, I would give this 5/5 stars. I found it unplayable with the keyboard, but I retrieved my XBox controller just to play this game and it makes a big difference in the controls. Reminds me of the good old XBLIG days! If I may make a couple suggestions: it felt too easy to die in this game (maybe hitting the rocks could shake up the ship without destroying it). Also, even with the XBox controller, the controls are a bit cumbersome or awkward - possibly the flight and fire controls could be implemented in a slightly simpler layout like a twin stick shooter, with an automatic "beam me up" beam deploying when hovering close enough over a gem for a long enough time (instead of requiring its own designated extra button). This game's "fun factor" is quite strong, but is overshadowed with by a somewhat awkward control layout. Overall though, a real gem of a game and with a few refined controls it would really shine. Great job designing and making this game!
Thank you for taking the time to play my game and provide feedback. I agree with using two buttons instead of three. Honestly, I also found having to use three buttons a bit cumbersome, but I couldn't think of a good way to reduce it down to two buttons. I like your suggestion of the tractorbeam turning on automatically when close to a gem. That should make it smoother to play.
