Beautiful artstyle and animations and a cool concept. I just thought the controlls are not made for finer movement like dashing inbetween nervs. But once you refine those a little bit its already a pretty complete game

Love the look and, mostly, the feel of this game. The physics and animations were really beautiful and made me feel viscerally connected to the character. I had a hard time with the controls at first, though, and clicking to shoot while I was otherwise using the keyboard felt awkward. But overall, really impressive!

You managed to create a visually appealing Metroid Vania with a story in the space of one jam, very impressive. Well done to this team!

very, very nice game 👍 the atmosphere was good, the tutorial/speaker voice very nice .. graphics and animations superb :) but i struggled a bit with the controls, had hard times dashing enemies .. also the shooting was quite tricky, but thats maybe because i played with a notebook and the touchpad is probably not the best option for this :D

i hope to be able to be part of a team which make a game like this someday :) .. probably not with a 8-headed team .. don’t like humans that much :D

I can just say wow! Amazing work.

Really great game and story/narration! I can feel the work that went into it.

Wow! Feels very nice to play! And the game has very accurate immunology too! I really like that there was a game inspired by science :)

wooooow! 10/10 really beautiful game, mechanics and graphics! and nice voice ;)

Developer

Thank you, I think we both have beautiful games :)

Wow, I did not expect to see an educational game on this list! Extremely impressive and incredibly well polished! One of the better games I've played on here thus far! And I love how smooth the narrator's voice was. The fact that it was actually educational too, like you get the DNA from the enemy and suddenly as the white blood cell you can shoot back because you have the antigens! So well made, Congratulations, all of you should be proud.

All around great game.  Moving around felt smooth and great background music and voicing.  I was only starting to worry about how many dna things I needed to collect since there was no counter.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

We have a counter; but it was added past the deadline so it's not in the game :)

You have to collect 18 (there are 20 in total) enemy parts in order to complete the game (but there is no way of knowing how many you have turned in besides counting it yourself atm :P )

Really cool vibe but I feel like that the transitions should be  better

Cool! Very nice feeling when moving and dashing.

To to be a buzzkill, but weren't we supposed to be a max of six people in a team?

Developer

Yes, they added this rule last minute. We asked the organiszers if it is OK as we had already formed our group. They said it was fine as there was no prize for the winner, just particpation. Glad you loved the game :)

very nice game ! i love the music ,the  atmosphere and narration which really work great together and hook you instantly. i love the artstyle and the environment you play in and the fact that you are a human and also part of the immune system inside the human which is ( a little bit abstract ) but for me personally a nice integration of the theme. the jiggly / bouncy controls feel very nice and smooth. my only critique points would be the 1. -  key bindings. i had to use both hands for controlling the character (WASD) , healing( SHIFT) and dashing(SPACE)   .The first ability i got is shooting (LEFT MOUSEBUTTON) which felt a little bit off when using two hands for keyboard controls. 2. -  the ability system.  maybe it was explained in the beginning and i didnt catch it but when i played got the shooting first and then i picked up another ability.. i guess which the 3 arrows. i didt get how i activate it  mouse buttons didnt seem to activate it. and the last critique would be these narrows spaces i could not fit in :D maybe theres a shrinking ability which i didnt get but that was the moment where i got stuck . All in all for me compared to other gamejams i did in the past one of the best entrys. well done and my respect for working in a 8 headed team. i imagine handling such a big team with different skills and oppinions beeing a challenge inside the Game Jam Challenge itself.

Developer

Thank you for the very positive feedback; we are very glad that you liked the game!

Healing whilst moving /dashing was supposed to be hard; we wanted the player to take a "times out" to heal; the mechanic was also implemented very late into the Jam as well ;)

There are 3 upgrades:

-Shot (with left mouse to activate) - dropped by the enemy virus (spiked)

-Dash (a more powerful dash that allows the player to also dash through multiple enemies at once; replaces normal dash) - Dropped by the dashing enemy

-Squeeze (to reach the "tight" areas) - Dropped by the worm enemy

We had such a blast making this game!
