Nice job on your first submission and great work with the art. The race to the end with the different mechanics included were pretty cool

Interesting mechanics with the fact that you have to walk over your own corpses in order to move forward :D
The player character is well animated!
Great job with lighting, it adds a lot of atmosphere :)
I lacked the ability to move the player using WASD.
I tried for a few minutes to jump on the first platform at the end of the first level, maybe steet to make it a little lower or jump a little higher. I also had difficulty jumping on the following platforms.
In general, the game is good, I liked it :3
Fun game, I really like how th lighting was made - it really makes game fills alive
Assets are very well made and used in a really good way. I'm impressed how you made all the assets, coding and level design by yourself in such a short amount of time. I loved the level design! Gameplay is hard and you have to be really careful in each step and jump. Dying mechanic is also fits the theme very well. I just didn't like the music. I find it a bit repetitive and I think jump sound didn't fit the games theme but it is just my humble opinion. Overall I enjoyed and loved your game !!!
I really liked this, and well done for producing all the assets yourself!
The two mechanics worked together really well, and the way each level expanded on the basics to produce more challenging puzzles was really nicely put together. I did feel like level 6 was a bit unforgiving with the collision detection, as hitting the side of a downward facing spike could kill you. Still, I persevered and got to the end :)
Great use of hand drawn assets!
Character could maybe have done with a Box rather than a Capsule collider as seem to fall off edges alot!
Would love to see fleshed out
This game is good! It's hard and reminds me of some old-school platformers (because of the unforgiving controls), but you can master and enjoy it. The theme and gameplay are connected very smoothly and the puzzles are easy, but with increasing difficulty. Good level design!
The only thing I didn't understand was that sometimes the levels seem to reset when you die too often. Somehow I thought that when activating the shrine that allows my corpses to remain in the level when dying, I could use this mechanic until my total life reaches 0 or when I activate the vampire shadow shrine...
Btw: we both use the idea of leaving our corpse in the level when dying, but you really made a game with that concept (and other mechanics!), whereas my game is just a prototype...
Thanks for the kind words :)
Each white shrine revives you only twice, to avoid cluttering the level with bodies (also avoids softlocking yourself if you can't walk anywhere anymore :D ) and so that you can't cover all the spikes and just walk over them. In hindsight, there are better ways to handle, or at least communicate that.
I'll check out yours!
Interesting mechanics!
I see you used Unity, some particles would make it more juicy!
