This was suprisingly pretty awesome, nice work. I played it on my livestream tonight if you want to see for the reaction and feedback you can view the replay below. Great submission and a really unique take on the theme.
Fun little game, but it becomes quite tedious.. got to 10,000.. I mastered the game, as the narrator says.. fun fact: if you don't wanna destroy your mouse, you can use the enter keys as well, alternate the two keys to really run up the numbers fast...
I couldn’t get to the end, as I was worried about developing carpal tunnel syndrome after reaching 1000 subscribers, and the autoclickers I’ve seen seem to be a bit shady, so I’ll give up for now.
But I loved what I read so far! Hilarious take on the theme, and well executed! Excellent work!
Some people said it's a funny game. For me it's super sad and true! Very nice interpretation of the theme with strong and bitter message behind.
At some point, the economy crashes and you can quickly buy all the badges. You could use some threshold, after 10k it could easily jump to 100k and higher. That's aspect to polish.
Thank you for your comment! Sorry the game made you sad!
I agree with you, it is very easy (too easy) to buy everything. Setting the prices was among the last few things I did (something like... 1h before the deadline). It is indeed not calibrated at all. :(
Someone also suggested dialogues once we buy everything of a type of badges, I thought it was a good idea too. There's a lot of room for improvement, no doubt.
I hope you liked the game anyway :) Thanks again for your comment!!
Not a fan of clickers but your writing and sense of humour kept me going for a while (plus a macro!)
Funny game and well executed!
Hilarious little game. Great story and unique concept! Awesome submission!
I really like the story and writing! It's so cringey you can't stop. ;)
I agree about having an option to get more subscribers per click, or else maybe tying story content to money instead of subscribers would work as well. Overall, great job, great presentation!
As others have mentioned already, some upgrade option for the getting more subscribers per click would be what's missing most. Maybe +1 per car/building and +10 per game phase and an extra bonus when all cars and buildings have been bought.
One bug I could see: When your mouse is over a building/car that you can't afford at the moment, shouldn't it be shaded in red? I've seen them getting green. Otherwise the Linux build worked perfectly fine on my machine.
Just had a play though.
I got to 500 subs,..
then i went and got all the building and car badges,
then pushed onto 1000 subs,..
Now my arms tired, which i'm sure most simps feel,... so good work :D.
as a played i could do with a "reward" to getting all the building badges, and another for all the car badges.
I'd also like to be able to "level up" to getting more than one subscription at a time :D.
It's got the makings of a good clicker game :).
Music and art themed well together.
Great work, well done.
Ah yes, I thought about adding dialogues after having bought every car and building, but I didn't have enough time. (I published the game like half an hour before the end of the jam, I was afraid to miss the deadline). I also thought about adding achievements to make it worthwhile between the "main story" milestones, but alas, not enough time either. I really didn't manage my time too well.
About the leveling up: that's a good idea, I wish I thought of it.
Truth be told, I don't think you're supposed to reach 100k subs by clicking on it manually. I personally use an auto-clicker!
Thanks so much for your comments, I'm really glad you tried it!!
Cool concept and a fun game ... decided to move on after 1k subs lol
I guess I simped for you in this game - you got me lol. Very clever :)
I have uploaded a new version of the game, seeing as some people liked it!
Here's the minor changes I've done:
1) I've fixed the accrual speed (it was ~double what it was supposed to be)
2) I've fixed some dialogue grammar/spelling errors
3) I've fixed a minor UI issue whereby the most expensive car's price would overflow to the next line
Good luck to all, and may you find the energy to never stop simping!
Great job! If this isn't the most based submission I'll be very surprised. And yeah, I just had to get to 100,000. Took a while, lol. Loved it.
Edit: Shared it with a buddy - he got to 10,000. Just re-watched a recording I made of the end, made me laugh out loud again, bravo. :D
be me, a guy with long hair, beard and glasses. as soon as I saw your art implement of the player I burst into laugh so bad lmao. I was like dude you have a camera in my room or something?. and that "Your sarcasm detector is broken" line was so brilliant lool.
Not going to lie I'm at 3000 subs now. taking a break now and keeping your game running on background. I'm definitely going the distance unless you tell me what happens in the end lmao.
Great work my friend. your game is fun and I laughed a lot.
Will come back to give update on the simping situation lol.
If you really want to reach 100k, you probably need to use an auto-clicker... like this one: https://sourceforge.net/projects/orphamielautoclicker/. I don't think people will click 100k times on it lol
Even if she never notices me I have so many channel points. It was all worth it. I regret nothing. 30,000 subs btw and climbing. If she doesn't propose to me at 100,000 I am quitting for real this time.
