Very fun take on a chess deckbuilder, but it seems like there's no downside to always taking queens
The queen has the least power-up bonuses and the most curses, and the king is the strongest.
I see, I had the +shield when queen played and never really felt any challenge

Very nice, a well-rounded deckbuilder with a twist on chess, i really like it! It's a bit too easy, but those kind of games are hard to balance so i think it's better to err on the side of too easy rather than too hard

Every game jam there are a few games that have that full game idea with a lot of potential, this is one of them.

Real nice! I played three times, and found that it really makes a difference which bonuses/curses you choose. (boosting pawns and keeping queens strong, I managed to survive to round 7).
I love the idea of using chess rules in a new way; it lets us all kind of start on the same page.
