This game was really fun! It reminds me a bit of QWOP. The player needs to get into a rhythm with the keys. It can be very challenging and a bit frustrating, but mostly in a good way. I think the audio could be expanded as right now the grunting and groaning could be a little annoying. Also it would be cool if there were some pick-ups or objectives to row towards. I pretty much just rowed randomly. Still, those are minor concerns overall. The game is a lot of fun and I think it'd be a blast to play with a friend!
Fantastic game! The leaderboard felt sort of hidden (Didn't realise it was even there until someone showed me). Needless to say I had to come back to defend my high score!
Really novel controls, had a lot of fun. My only suggestions would be some music (a sea shanty type thing or something!) and something to do instead of just waiting around for sharks to appear.
Really solid entry, had a blast
Great game! Really enjoying the visuals and the audio feels super polished, shame there's no music to tie it all together but a very minor complaint ^^
Nice Game, I would like if there was the option to invert the letters so asd moves down and dsa up, so the player an fit to it better
Fantastic game! Polished artwork, great audio (too bad no music), very funny, but.... the boat turns in the wrong direction! :D
I love the challenging control mechanics for this game as well as the beautiful pixelized art along with this game! It was challenging at first to steer the boat around, but I ended up getting better at it. If I was to throw a suggestion on how this game could possibly improve:
- It may be because of your preference or mines, but I feel you should edit the physics of the boat when trying to steer either in the left or right direction. Realistically speaking, when you turn a boat left or right, it should stay in one place and turn in the direction, but I noticed as I steered, the whole boat began moving forward AND turning in the direction at the same time.
This is just how I feel about the mechanics. It may just be me, but anyway, truly amazing and spectacular game! :D (Also I would love if it there was sound too!).
Thank you for this lovely feedback.
At first we made the physics that way, but turns out it was super difficult to control. So we thought we should make this little bit easier. xD
Also we wanted to make our own music but you know.. we didn't make it in a short time. But I like the grunting sound so much.
Thanks again. :D
Hi! I'll be playing Row! Harder! tomorrow on stream along with several others games from the jam at 3:30pm EST. I'll be talking about any interesting design decisions as I play, and suggesting improvements if any come to mind. Please feel free to join me live, it'll be extra fun to chat together about your game while playing it :)
Here's the segment where I played your game! Thanks so much for getting up early to join me on stream, your game has such a fun personality in terms of the sound design and the unusual controls. I'd love to see collectibles and a bigger variety of enemies and obstacles to make the game longer. Very well done, keep making those great boat games haha :P
I love this man!!! So fantastically fun! Second game to get 5 all the way!
I think this is the highest rating I've given for a game so far. The controls are great and the visuals are amazing as well as the simple concept!
Really fun, and the art is good. The controls are very interesting and unique
I like it dude. Simple but idea is very good. Controls are enjoyable.
