Really good looking game !
The main menu sound is good and I really really like the art style. But the combat UI could be a bit improved for clarity:
- For example, having the heart (which is your player) at the same height that the opponent head could help the comprehension a bit. Basically keeping a one-to-one display left and right. But if you want more a hearthstone's feeling, you should have more the shield and attack display at the top / bottom in my opinion.
Like you said in other comments, a quick tutorial could really benefits the experience.
The take on the theme is also a bit light in my opinion. In every card game you have to play the hand you're dealt with no ? ;)
Good job guys !
Was confused at the beginning of the game with the card mechanic, but once you figure it out it’s pretty easy and neat :D
Cool card game with some unique mechanics! The sigil mechanic is quite cool and I like the cards that depended on it. However I do wish there were more cards that used this mechanic as at least when I played most just added attack and defense. I also think there could be more feedback as its a little hard to tell what's happening / when I'm taking damage sometimes. Overall cool concept and I would like to see it expanded on!
Hmm, is this finished on the web version? Looks like I can play all the cards in my hand without limit, I think I defeated like 10 monsters, and still, they didn't have any chance to respond because I kill them in the first turn. Anyway, the music is excellent, and the art totally fits the mood. I'd like to play the final version if possible! Kudos
Thanks for playing!
The game is finished in the web version, but there are many things that we would have liked to add if we would have had more time.
That being said, you are supposed to be able to play your entire hand. I've added some instructions to the description that will hopefully clarify things. In short, the crux should be to play them in the best order possible together with the sigils on the wheel. Although, defeating 10 monsters on turn 1 is not intended to happen every time, so the balancing would have to be a bit more polished if we were to update this game further :)
Very interesting, had some scale problems, it always forced Fullscreen. Some instructions or information would have been nice, was confused quite a bit. Do you have to play all cards every round? Then its missing a bit of depth. Well done with the music and ambiance.
Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback!
I've added some instructions to the game's description. If we were to release more versions in the future, the depth and interactions between the cards and the wheel will def be looked into :)
Unfortunately I found the game somewhat confusing, it could really use a tutorial (possibly interactive and in-game, but since time is always an issue, a description on the game page would be great too).
Thematically the game is on point. Good job!
Thanks for playing!
I've added some instructions to the game's description. Hopefully that will clear things up a bit :)
A very interesting game that I had a good time playing!
I almost went with your exact title for my game! Well done with finishing this, I can see the inspiration from slay the spire and inscryption! If i were to change something, the battles are a little to infrequent on the map - I went through the entre first map without encountering a single one!
Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback! As you said, the infrequent battles is something that we tweaked right before release to not have too many encounters. We'll have to tweak that further in the future :)
I really like the music in your game, it is very mesmerizing and scary at the same time.
I love to play card games, but it was quite difficult for me to play, especially when I got 3 cards in a row, but despite the difficulty, I liked your game.
It would be nice to add training, otherwise I lost several times, not understanding what I need to do and how everything works here
Thanks for playing our game, and for the feedback as well!
Not understanding why you lost is not intended, and a "training"-mode as you suggested, sounds like a good addition.
If you don't mind, was there anything specific that you thought was unclear? Just so that we can be more clear about it possible future updates :)
When I first saw the battlefield, I was a little confused by the runic circles. I thought that for each circle you need a certain card and you can’t put others, but later I realized that these circles are needed for additional effects. A bit confusing battlefield interface I think. I thought that the left side is the opponent's statistics, the right side is the player's statistics, but later I realized that this is not so. Everything else was clear to me
Ah, ok! I can see how that could be confusing. Will def try to make it more clear in the future.
Again, thanks for the feedback :)
It seems like you put a lot of effort into it, but I'm having trouble getting past the title screen. Tried Safari and Firefox. Pressed every button and mouse click I could think of.
Huh, its just a regular unity webgl build. Tried chrome/chromium?
Worked better on another PC. Must have been my setup.
I wasn't able to play it in browser either. Tried chrome and firefox. The button seems hidden.
But I recall having this problem on another game and it really looks like it's a scaling issue.
Maybe allowing player to fullscreen your game in itch.io could fix the issue ?
Cool! It reminded me of inscryption
At web version there is two full-screen buttons(one from Unity and one from itch.io) working different. Also picking encounter with WASD seems unobvious, will be better to use mouse.
Thank you for your comment! I've added the controls to the description so that you won't miss that it is WASD that's being used to move around the map :)
