I like TD and this one is pretty par for the course in terms of mechanics. I like that the attacks are based on how real fish attack. I had fun with it, nothing really felt too OP, however the whole game was a tad easy. I felt like I had more than enough money after round 10 or so. In the very beginning it felt like I had too little money to make any early game decisions other than what I could afford. The art could be improved and the sound effects from the towers get too repetitive if you have a lot of them, especially the pufferfish. I wish there were more maps and upgrades for the towers!
Thank you for playing and feedback!
I really liked it. I had a lot of pufferfishes and it was fun to see them set off at different times. I ended up losing to the final boss, but I still had fun with it.
Thank you for playing!
Congratulations on your game! It's very impressive for a first game jam, tower defence are challenging to make!
All the (fish) towers are very interesting and original, I liked the sawfish, which is a slow fish next to a puffer fish. They even added some special abilities, very cool.
I made it to the end (wave 31/30 ;-))!
Thank you for playing!
I usually don’t last very much in tower defense games, but this kept me going till the end. I like the variation of towers and abilities. This was very well made. Congrats on your awesome first jam game! :)
Thank you for playing!
This was incredibly fun! The different attack mechanics for the different fish were really well balanced and never felt like any one kind was overpowered, and the introduction of varied crab types over time kept it fresh. I think you could iterate on the economy a little bit, it felt like it took a few waves before I had many interesting purchasing decisions to make. And as others have mentioned, the UI is a little crowded. But overall, really excellent work!
Thank you for playing and feedback!
Cool little tower defense! I suggest making the screen a bit less busy as it gets hard to read when there are a lots of units
Thank you for playing and feedback!
The mechanics works really well and feel robust! I had a hard time at the beginning but I think I simply misplaced my fish. The art style made it hard to see everything happening on the screen but it didn't stop me from saving the fish kingdom!
Thank you for playing!
Big fan of PVZ here, this just what I wanted. nice mechanics, and the music, wanted to jam! great job, very entertaining to the end!
Thank you for playing!
This game was very entertaining and the gameplay is well designed. I like the sound effects for everything. Good tower defense game! :)
Thank you for playing!
Great TD, I liked it, very funny. not very pretty. crab types weren't too distinct from each other except from the final ones and the speedy crabs
Thank you for playing and your feedback!
While it lacks in visual polish, this game makes up for in its overall game design and fun factor! This is, out of any of the other submissions, the longest I have spent playing and the first one I have beat. Each fish you can use is incredibly useful and unique, and I had a great time playing this game! Phenomenal job!
Thank you for playing!
This game got me hooked hahah! That king crab gave me a good scare! Loved how you made prices for every fish go up so I had to diversify my towers!
Thank you for playing!
I saved fish kingdom ! Very good game ! Good job !
Thank you for playing!
Wow, so fun! One of the most enjoyable game on the jam!
The graphics needs some work, but I enjoy building our army of fishes to defeat the grabs.
The game has a lot of variety in both fish and crabs and keep the player motivated to continue the gameplay until test it all. Good work! (although I don't understood how we got money...)
The game crashed on my computer at the first time (this game require too much memory on the web version). I tried the Windows version but it gives a error saying its missing the pck file. But after try one more time on web I manage to beat the game!
Overall, a nice game! Really like it 😊!
Thank you for sticking and playing! Optimization definitely need some work. And it looks like I messed up with the uploading:( I was rushing to finish and thought that just uploading exe file would be fine. I'm glad you decided to spend your time and played my game!
I think it's the most fun FishFest game i've played so far! Fishiness is on point. Actually saved the fish kingdom.
Thank you for playing!
I love how you can basically build your own attack squad of sawfish and that they sound like a fleet of fighter jets. I ended up losing wave 30 to the boss, but at least I got to put down as many sawfish as possible. I did see that occasionally I was in kelp debt somehow, which might be an issue with the price increase happening before the fish is purchased. It was really fun and I loved the creative fish abilities!
Thank you for playing! I tried my best to reproduce the bug but couldn't :(
Price increase happens after the purchase, so that's not it. But it probably creates 2 copies on top of each other by mistake. I hope changes I made will prevent it after the jam. Glad you enjoyed the game!
Great submission! It's really well done, and impressive for a first jam/first game (did not encounter any bugs) :) Finished all 30 rounds as the time flew by, it's quite entertaining.
Thank you for playing!
Very fun game! I love the creativity of the fish abilities! My favourite has to be the pufferfish and then the sawfish. It puffing in and out is funny and seems to deal a lot of damage, while the sawfish is great for the long path areas for low health enemies. I think there's a bug with placing the silt trap within a lionfish zone because then the silt trap doesn't do anything while it's inside. Overall, a very awesome game! Great job on your first jam/game! :D
Thank you for playing and founding a bug! Slowing function was bugged for majority of the crabs and caused such behavior. I will patch it after the jam.
Great game. It seemed pretty well balanced and I felt that my fish placement really mattered. I played to the final wave and lost sadly. My only critique is that the final boss kills you in one hit, but that might just be cuz I'm salty. Overall very fun game.
Thank you for playing!
I enjoyed this one :)
Some of the fish were a little overpowered, so with proper placement I found it to be quite easy, but it was still really satisfying. I liked the variety of fish that you could hire and also the cooldown powers. The different enemies types were cool too and made for some strategic placement. Great job!
Thank you for playing! Since I was the only playtester, I'm sure balance isn't ideal. This jam confirmed for me that balancing games are really hard. I felt that making game a little easier would be better for the jam, since it takes time to beat. And I think making game feels unfair is worse that easy. Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeahh, perfecting the balancing of a tower defense game with 30 waves (on top of building it too!) within a week is definitely a challenge.
I agree, as it's a jam people probably wouldn't take the time to persist if it was too challenging, meaning they'd miss out on experiencing everything else the game has to offer. Good call!
