Let people know how long has this project been going, or share a bit of its history.
This project began as a game for the GMTK 2018 game jam in September that we decided to expand and improve into a full game. So it only seems fitting to finish this game up for another game jam, the Finally Finish Something game jam. If you want to see the GMTK version which was made in just 3 days it can be found at https://ajdonn01.itch.io/sisyphean-pinball

I like the name and idea behind, seems like a unique spin on the pinball idea.  Personally I like it better than a standard high score, because when you mess up you always get another chance!

I think people don't actually apreciate the "smartness" of the title, and the work in general. Funny idea, yet it have a problem within itself. In game, you don't have a final goal or/and a highscore. If this is core idea and you don't want to change it, fine, this game will remain as a manifestation of art, good enough. Yet, if you want to continue this project, I would actually recomand you to think how you can integrate a "meaning" to the "meaningless". Maybe trough some comedy/drama spykes (like how hard is the life for this immortal rock sphere with no desire to exist) because right now the game feel for a "average" player as a waste. At least that's my opinion. Good luck with your craft!

Thank you for taking the time to play our game and leave such a thoughtful comment! We intended from the beginning to have this be a casual game that was more about being a commentary on the Sisyphean nature of games than a game with progress. We think you are right that it might feel like a waste to some players without a high score or an end to the game. However, our concern is that adding something like this might detract from the actual message.  We agree that it would be good to add meaning to the meaninglessness and are looking for a way to do that. Currently we have been thinking of adding voice over of the myth of Sisyphus that plays out in sections as you finish each board.  Thanks again for the comment.

like the game and it's idea in it. the controls are a little bit weird because I am use the with the Z and (.) key like in space cadet.

Developer(+1)

That's a great idea! Those controls are more intuitive and I can remember playing a few pinball games using them as well. It's a simple adjustment so I'll be sure to include it in the next update. Thanks for playing!

Very nice game. It has a very good feel to it.

One thing though, sometimes the flippers are a little hard to notice since they blend in with the background. You might want to use a different color for them.

Overall, Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game and for the feedback. We see what you mean with the flippers blending in. It is something we will fix in a future update. Thanks again!

my ball got stuck on one of the rails! i couldn't loosen it by pressing space or anything. other than that, really cool game.

Developer

Thanks! Ill look into it and try to get it fixed soon. Do you happen to know which level it was on?

nah i don't, sorry. but it was after the first three at least, if that helps.

This might be it. If you launch it and it makes it past the transparent part but not enough to make it around the metal.

Thanks for letting us know. Ill take a look at fixing it.
