I thought the graphics were actually really cute! They did feel kinda unfinished though. Conceptually I think this could be a fun take on the vampire survivors genre

Hi, I was part of the Feedback Quest. The VOD is up for this if you're interested.

I'll cut it simple, the game was solid. I liked it. Even though I played it while tired, I enjoyed it.

My only issues were that the UI and buttons could use some work to make it nicer. The game could also use better stimuli, like maybe a screenshake if I take heavy damage or my Spider friend taking damage. I'd also would've loved to play as the Spider or have a 2player Co-op but again, just small details.

Please keep up the good work.

Hello! I was one of the streamers who took part in Feedback Quest, and I'm here to leave some comments I had while playing.

I'm opening with this: REMOVE ALL PICTURES OF REAL SPIDERS. PLEASE. I have arachnophobia, and I legit freaked out when I started this game. Thankfully, people in my stream did inform me that it was only the one screen and that beyond that it was the cute drawn spider that doesn't bother me.

Now to get into the real stuff. I think this is a cute concept and I would love to see it expanded a bit more. There are two main things I want to recommend. The first is to add a audio and visual queue upon level up before going into the upgrade selection. This way, the player can't accidentally click on an upgrade without meaning to and it prepares the player to know that the game is about to pause for them to choose. I hope to see this again in a future Feedback Quest. :D

Fun little game. I could imagine it would be nice to play it on the tablet. That would be better than with the track pad which I used. I liked how you have to take care of the spiders the whole time.

Some suggestions for improvements:

The graphics are funny, but could be a bit nicer and cuter. Also, I would not add legs to the eggs. That looks a bit weird.

I was not sure about how the nets come into being, I also had not much clue about what some of the extras actually would change. (Some are clear, others not so much.)

I think some feeling of achievement is missing. At least in the web version the scoreboard didn't work and I also either didn't manage to clear out the first level (possible, but then it's maybe too long and difficult – or I'm just bad at this) or there were no levels (in this case it was a bug).

In any case: all the best with your game! 🐸

The comic was cute!

In the beginning, I wasn't sure what to do, and didn't realize that the spider was my friend. I clicked on it a lot but nothing happened.

Once I realized I was supposed to click on the other things, the game started to progress more. I think having a larger collider for the enemies might be good, it was hard to click on the small ants sometimes.

Neat idea and cute graphics! It gets busy quite fast, I was able to survive until I reached level 6.

I explored a lot during my first playthrough but I hadn't understood I had to protect the spider and eggs. During my second game, I kept close to the spider and this was much more effective. The map is big, but there is nothing to gain by exploring. I would either reduce the map size or provide some reward for taking the risk of temporary leaving the spider behind. The chests didn't seem to provide any sort of bonus, or maybe they just give xp, but what they do should be more obvious.

The patches of color on the ground look a bit weird, I think a single color would be more consistent. You could add obstacles to provide some visual variety.

The leaderboard didn't seem to work, it just displays "fetching..." for every row.

I had fun and loved the sense of progression when you level up, the upgrade system is great 😊 Great work!

A cute little game, with cute art. I love it though there are several improvements to be made. Notably the UI - I had trouble determining what upgraded what, I was just clicking on things and hoping for the best. I also wish that the tongue of the frog was more rapid fire so it hits enemies held down rather than individually clicking on each one.

All in all, fun experience. Keep it up! :)

Interesting take on this genre! Took some notes while playing:

I like the idea that you protect the spider's eggs, but it would be nice if you could the spider and it's eggs' health displayed on the screen while you're roaming around.

I found the ground having so many objects for decor felt a bit distracting, so if it's possible I'd reduce them.

If the screen is wider than about 1200 pixels, then the intro image can still be seen. I've got a 2560 x 1440 screen so it shows pretty clearly on the far right side of the screen.

Overall nice work!!
