Love these mechanics, love the audio design, love the pixel art, and the puzzle design! This was super well done, great work! Could easily play more of this, its a great concept and great execution
This is a great combination of two game mechanics. light and dark, and having a buddy AI. I really liked how you hid the keys in the darkness and thast its the guy not you the player that has to get to the door. the only thing i didnt like was that beeping noise when you get too close. I'm playing with headphones and darn my ears haha . also great that you got a story in there and the balancing was just right. great job guys!
Part of the original concept was to play with the "distance" challenge without setting a hard cap or lose condition. The solution was to make the game unplayably bright, but that wasn't enough on its own so I added the sound. It's a pretty effective deterrant to keep the player away from the knight, but obviously it's pretty unpleasant. I have some concerns about it being an accessibility issue, which is why I put in the warning at the front, but it serves its purpose and is thematic enough that I thought it better to leave it in despite that.
