"The sight of the night sky fills with dreed." I smashed the statue and left.

Overall the game was fun. Movements feels good and so does shooting enemies, I like the rise in power and I read all the journal entries with care because they're cool. The game ends with a satisfying conclusion part, it's cool that there's this small part outdoor, and the sky changing as you smash the statue is great.

Enemy reaction behaviour and reaction was weird, and I saw your comment below that's it's simply a bug, they indeed do nothing if you click on them, it's fine, but maybe I should not have abused it then ;) . When you click on a door sometimes it reacts liked you clicked twice (on other things probably too then but it matters only with doors).

This is a cool game, thanks for sharing.

EDIT : The different portraits as you restart are cool too.

Movement and art style is great. But the game is lacking some hints where i supposed to go, it's very hard to navigate. And I'm missing sound feedback on my actions :(.
Also, there are some bugs. Doors strangely respond to mouse clicks (it seems that the logic for door opening works in update and always closes/opening when i hold my left mouse button). When you pickup crossbow you can shoot enemies from the distance if you click on them, but it seems Combat button which is placed on the screen doesn't do anything.

Movement good! Hard to decipher objects. Maybe you can clarify. I imagine the objects you cant move past are chairs. The things left behind by enemies are a skull and crossbones? Keys obviously. Other than that, I was kind of clueless.  As other have stated, some sound, any sound would have been nice. Also, one thing that really bugged me was the weird like dotty dark green shadows that are visually just statically sitting 4 moves ahead of where you are.  It was really distracting and made depth perception more trick than it helped build atmosphere. Overall though, I did enjoy the art style despite the many little parts of it that annoyed me. Good solid submission!

Movement and turning are great, everything handled well. The graphics are a nice, simple style but kinda hard to figure out what the items are vs an enemy sometimes. If there was a little more feedback when attacking enemies that would go a long way. And I didn't hear any music or sound, even a really basic cc0 looping soundtrack and some sound fx go a long way for me at least.

I like the simple graphics and movement it feel snappy. Was a bit hard to differentiate enemies from objects in the dungeon and what was actually happening. Some sound and music would enhance the experience.

I love the visual aspect of the game. Very simple but it does its job very well, it's a really interesting choice. The game feels nice and interesting, I only regret that it doesn't have some sound to complete the ambiance.

Very good work!

I came to this game for the visual aspect. I played it but I found the gameplay a little bit hard. It appears I can attack enemies with several block-tiles of distance by clicking them.

I love the using of dithering here.

Good game.

The style choice was interesting and caught our eye but it made it really hard to tell what the icons of things were.  We could understand the table and doors and such but not what the monsters were or what happened to them after they died.  I died without knowing what hit me though so that was not fun.

I think if you could have got a few sound FX in it would have been a really nice and polished jam game though.

Absolutely love the colour/style of this one, although it was really hard to tell what was what in some cases. But was fun to wander around the mansion and get lost, all the classic signs of me not having a good sense of direction :D

I died once without knowing what it was, maybe an enemy I had not seen? we’ll never know.

Nice job! great presentation and atmosphere! and I really liked the abstract art style

You habe implemented quite a bit of stuff here. The graphics are a bit to abstract for my liking, but besides that the game works very well.

I am excited about the idea and art style! The movement input is smooth. I was at around the 3rd area when I realized that the "it crumbles when you awake" message indicated I had been healed. I'm not sure I was doing combat correctly, it seemed like if I clicked on an enemy repeatedly they would die without dealing damage to me.

oh snap, you uncovered a bug.  It looks like when you first move towards or past a monster they attack, but when the player attacks the monster doesn't take their turn :s

Bugs happen when working right up to submission =D

It's a bit tricky to tell what the objects in the world are meant to represent.  Maybe an inspect option would help?  I picked up a broom but I'm not sure if that automatically equipped it or not.  The enemies seemed to not really care about me and would wander away.

yea the look/inspect content had to be pulled from scope when I was having trouble with the mansion generation and lost two days of work to completely rebuild it :s

The monsters are the other inhabitants stricken with madness, they only attack  if you get close and should only follow you if you attack back.  I tried to explain that in the journal entries but I don't think I was clear enough. I also meant to add it to the itch description but I think I forgot, I'll update the page.

Thanks!
